A Reagan biographer says the slogan was "the wail of pathetic losers" in the 1970s
A Republican adman unveiled a new public relations campaign this week to soften the image of the Grand Old Party using the guiding slogan Republicans Are People, Too. The promotional push came complete with a highly produced video, a website and social media efforts.
The project is the brainchild of Vinny Minchillo, a Mitt Romney presidential campaign veteran who helped produce ads for the White House candidate in 2012. The positive, feel-good campaign, Minchillo said, is meant to let people know that its OK to be a Republican, in a world in which he feels it has become socially acceptable to say bad things about Republicans.

Aaaaannnnddddd...... THERE IT IS!
The GOPe is pathetic. This should be a banner year for them and they still act like a bunch of losers.
Repubs are pathetic losers, starting at the top with old kneepads himself Blank Check Boehner.
Actually, one of the fake advantages the demonrats have is the moral high-horse of good intentions. People vote for demonrats because they believe they stand for the poor, the kindness and fair play. The sad part is the policies demonrats implement hurt the poor, are far from kind and reduce fair play. But it is perception that drives the demonratic party.
This appears to a step in the right direction. The US will never recover while people vote for candidates based upon false perception.
I hate to say this but facts don’t matter nearly as much as perception and Republicans need to change the perception. Why does a RINO take RINO positions? Because they want to be perceived as a good person. You can’t run on a conservative position unless voters realize that position is inherently “good” morally and ethically.
God are these people stupid. And yet ... they keep getting votes. The numbers they are getting are dwindling to be sure but ... boy are they pitiful.
Rather than adopt Democrat positions so to be “perceived as a good person”, articulate conservative/constitutional positions and actually be a good person. Repubs have not clearly articulated conservative/constitutional positions. Thus they never persuade anyone to vote for them. They are the “B team” of the Government Party.

This is what I am trying to say. Democrats have a fake moral high horse that they are the party of compassion, goodness and equality when they are not. Republicans need to change that perception and quit allowing themselves to be stereotyped (Incorrectly) as mean, nasty and only concerned for money
Mitt Romney no wonder, these people are worse than the Bushies (the Bush inside circle).
You can also write to the RNC and get as many “KicK Me” signs (designed by Reince Prebus or what ever his name is) to pin to your back as you want for only 25 cents each......
Yup, by even running such a campaign, they are conceding that the left’s premise of dehumanizing their opponents is actually acceptable and worthy of discussion.
These ads are as much a sign of a dying party as the ‘corporate image’ ads that only dying companies run.
They are so desperate to be loved by the people who will always hate them...the legacy media & Hollywood.
Vinny, you’re everything I’ve come to expect from the Republican/conservative professional class.
The way to defeat the misperception is to attack it, to vigorously defend the conservative ground -- not make apologies for it.
Whining about the misperception will get us nowhere. That's what losers do.
Speaking as an ad guy, the "Republicans Are People, Too" is a pathetic venture doomed to failure.
Has it occurred to you that the Republican hierarchy might not believe in the conservative/constitutional positions? And, thus, are unable to articulate them effectively?
Oh, I have NO doubt of that.
