This is the shocking moment when a policeman shot an unarmed man during a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt.

Sean Groubert, 31, who as a South Carolina State Trooper at the time of the incident shot Levar Jones on September 4 on Broad River Road, in Richmond County, Columbia.

Groubert ordered Mr Jones to show his driving licence. When he reached into his car to retrieve the document, Groubert started shouting and opened fire with his semi-automatic handgun.

Respect the badge a little, it tends to respect you back.

Yeah, right, tell that to the two county mounties who treated me like a criminal during two separate traffic stops and then lied in open court, before I beat both of their baseless citations.

That works both ways.

It’s about legalized shakedowns by jerks who consider the public to be the enemy and a source of revenue.

Post of the day!

That cop should have asked if the subject had his license on his person; if he said it was in the vehicle, then said subject should have been assisted in ‘assuming the position’ on the hood while the cop retrieved it.

Did I miss the sarcasm tag after that sentence?

I have a similar story. About 5 years ago I hit a deer, it lay wounded on the road. A fellow motorist stopped, called the cops in a nearby town and asked what to do with the deer. The cop said shoot it. I did.

I was ordered into town so the cop could do a report on the incident. He came outside to the truck, asked for my drivers license, which was in a cardboard box on the seat. It was dark, I asked him to shine his flashlight into the box. The light illuminated 40 cal and 9 mm pistols, both loaded.

He said absolutely nothing about them, I found the drivers license, he finished his report, I left. Now I did have a carry concealed license, he never asked for it.

Try doing this in California or New York or some other leftist/looney paradise.

What is absolutely amazing is that this fool of a ‘cop’ acted this way knowing full well that it was being recorded.

Imagine how he might have acted if he had known it was NOT being recorded.

Crime doesn't pay.
Traffic violators do.

“No, utilize some baseline intellect. “Yes, Officer, it’s in my car. Can I get it for you?”
Respect the badge a little, it tends to respect you back.”

Well, ordinary innocent people try to comply with cops when they order you to do something. So, since this guy was so “snappy” following the cop’s order, he got shot 4 TIMES?????? WTF?
Oh, then add another 2 when he had his hands up????? I guess he didn’t respect the cop enough to tell him he was going to put his hands up?

THIS COP BELONGS IN JAIL. Period.

Those are Law and Order (LAO) conservatives, and they don’t need no stinkin Constitution. They believe the police are above the law—even divine law. They have started a new group:

Law
And
Police
Defense
Over
God

AKA LAPDOGs. Their motto:

Security Super Libertatis

(Security Over Liberty)

When he turns to the vehicle like that, pull the gun and have it ready and order him to show his hands. If he comes around with a gun, shoot to kill. If no gun, don’t shoot. Decision-making skills. Oh man, that was unnecessary.

Why would the guy have put his hands on the hood when the cop asks for his license?

It seems pretty clear that the cop needs a new job, as he’s previously been involved in a traffic stop shooting, wherein the the other guy shot first. Now he sees threats where there are none and just shoots first.

Just wondering, during a routine traffic stop, do you ask for permission before going into your glovebox for your registration? Or do you just reach over and get it, much like the guy in this case?

I have trouble believing anyone is defending him.

For some people, authority always equals correct and righteous.

I am encouraged to see that the cop was charged. If I was on the jury and saw that video I would be voting for a conviction.

We have far too many here.

I find myself at odds with leftists over the Saint Travon and Ferguson and at odds with the LAPDOGs over SWAT and bad police shootings. It would be funny, if people weren’t dead.

The left doesn’t bother me near as much, but the LAPDOGs will build gallows for all of us. As I said on another thread in another context, they aren’t the enemy; they are the Kapos keeping all the rest of the victims in line. They are the sort who inhabited the STASI and NKVD.
