Wow, you pull out Catholic and attack me personally?

You also try to mislead on Santorum, he was on stage endorsing Specter’s pro-abortion run to remove life from the GOP, that is commitment.

Santorum was personally devoted to Arlen Specter and never stopped supporting him, until finally Specter had to literally become a democrat to shake Santorum, Santorum then switched to supporting the pro-abortion Mitt Romney.

A useless enterprise, but I’ll go anyway:

Yes, I am a Rick Santorum supporter. For social conservatives, he has been the gold standard. While others were keeping their heads low, he had the guts to speak for the voiceless in the Hinterland. He paid the price for it. He took the arrows. No one is more hated by the Left. Just look up his last name in a recent popular dictionary. Bad mouth him if you want to. I will not.

The storyline that some believe that he somehow stole the nomination from Newt is ridiculous. The opposite is much closer to the truth. As far as his being a plant to nominate Romney, that is also ridiculous. Santorum was the only one who seriously challenged Romney on Romneycare during the debates. Oh, and one of the main reasons that Santorum lost big in his Senate race was that he refused to run to the middle on some issues like many others were doing during that election cycle. He decided to lose as a man of his convictions.

I realize that I probably won’t change any minds. That’s Ok. All I want is a solid conservative as our nominee. Rick is one of my top tier choices. The others are Cruz, Palin, Jindal, and Pence. I’ll gladly take any one of them.

I voted for Rick. I supported him. I have no regrets.

Santorum has always been a two bit hustler, he mocked the Reagan supporters in college as fringy, and worked for liberals in politics, and admits that he switched to pro-life, just as he decided to run for office.

You won’t change minds because people pick up that Santorum is a hustler, looking for work, for a following, in 2012 he was the plant for romney, but people despised Romney so much that the musical chairs of the ‘not-Romney’ landed on Santorum, Santorum saw his opportunity and ran for it, switching to actually fighting for the nomination himself.

That primary was what most of his new supporters saw of him, so they picked up a false image, much like many of our more naive Romney supporters have no idea why we dislike him so much, because all they know is the mainstream republican that they sqw during the 2012 primary, a false image

That wasn’t a personal attack, ansell, unlike the ones here directed at Santorum. If it came off that way, then I apologize. I am trying to understand how a social conservative like yourself could so despise Santorum that you have to refer to a speech given almost twenty years ago by Arlen Specter to prove that Santorum isn’t pro-life.

Santorum was a politician. They play “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” all the time. I do not put politicians on pedestals as I understand they are failed human beings, more so than us regular folks.

Santorum was as “devoted” to Specter as Palin is to McCain because without them, they would never have gotten to the National levels in politics. I don’t like the game, but that’s how it’s played.

I don’t like Romney either. But Santorum believed that it was better to have any Republican in power than Obama, and so did about 61 million other Americans (not me, I voted Constitution Party, which didn’t affect anyone as I live in NY). I won’t hold that against him and I won’t hold it against him that he stumped for his fellow Republican Senator.

Toomey turned out to be as much of a RINO as Specter and Rick Santorum has always voted 100% pro-life as a politician and walked the pro-life walk in his personal life. For that, he will always have my respect.

By the way, the incumbent Senator doesn’t get dumped on his third election by 17.5%, because it is too principled.

Why are you misleading people, first you personally attacked me, played a Catholic card, and continue to attack Palin, an old Romneybot trick, for some reason Palin keeps getting dragged in.

You also try to mislead on Santorum, he was on stage endorsing Specter’s pro-abortion run to remove life from the GOP, that is commitment.

I’m not attacking Palin! Romneybot, ha! I am reiterating that politics is a game of cronyism, and like it or not, that’s what we have to deal with.

I can see that you speaking to you about this is not something we will agree on, so I’ll leave it at that.

There is no comparison between the 2008 presidential ticket and Santorum’s mysterious and unexplained devotion to his fellow Senator and his radical pro-abortion politics, Santorum was STILL supporting Specter for 2010, until Specter finally switched parties, devotion that lasted longer than Santorum’s career in office, and for years after he left office.

Santorum then switched to the pro-abortion liberal, Mitt Romney.

You mean those Middle East Christians are being treated like JEWS!!!! Oh! The horror!

How can they come to us for our sympathy and support while they think it’s OK to do to the Jews what they want us to help stop against them?

Those who want the same treatment for the Jews they are asking for themselves, have my support and sympathy. The others, not so much.

One aspect of Cruz’s foreign policy is clear: If you want our support, you cannot be anti Israel.

I am 100% in favor of the Cruz doctrine!

Not me.

Cruz is my first choice as GOP NOMINEE but this whole thing is open to questions for me

And I’ve already done that...here when it happened

And the cult of personality sorts here who brook no question of whoever is in favor just can’t stand that.... they never have....

And many here are ignorant that some Palestinian Christians got the short end of the stick in 1948.....and knowing that doesn’t make Eichmann....my knowledge of Israel is from being there and knowing Hagana warriors

Open wounds

There are much better enemies for Ted to prod

Go to a mosque...let them have it Ted

If you’re gonna grandstand for the cameras....make it count

This forum is basically kept afloat by 5% of its members.....maybe less

The rest of our so-called conservatives here freeload like liberals and get to act out what comes natural to them....being self righteous nasty pricks basically

That is basically the swarm here and they can come down on any side of any issue

Nuance and reasonable talk is simply not going to happen if they have the chance to talk trash

Its always been this way.

You find a group you cotton to and you defer to them and ping them and so forth

All open internet joints are like this.....IMDB....FACEBOOK...ETC

The funny thing is our ugliest posters here can't get enough on open forum so they go to anti Freeper sites to cackle uninhibited and preen about their cleverness and open mindedness

This would all be fun to study.

I agree with you and tanker but I do know middle eastern Christians who see Israel as good guys

Its the Palestinian Christians with an axe to grind.... legitimate axe in some cases

For record

I supported Newtie.....wished Santorum had bowed out early but I agree with him here

I now prefer Cruz.....but think on this he grandstanded or got sandbagged...either way he dodged and played PC with anti Semite card

I didn’t like that

Tell that lecture in a mosque to Hamas

Rick, Jews in Israel and Christians in Iraq have the same enemy, or near enough that whatever conflicts they have are more interservice rivalries than actual antagonism. I think it’s in the sane folks’ interest to recognize that about the insane folks, as soon as possible.
