Eric Holder Jr., the nation's first black U.S. attorney general, is preparing to announce his resignation Thursday after a tumultuous tenure marked by civil rights advances, national security threats, reforms to the criminal justice system and five and a half years of fights with Republicans in Congress.
Two sources familiar with the decision tell NPR that Holder, 63, intends to leave the Justice Department as soon as his successor is confirmed, a process that could run through 2014 and even into next year. A former U.S. government official says Holder has been increasingly "adamant" about his desire to leave soon for fear he otherwise could be locked in to stay for much of the rest of President Obama's second term.

Somehow I see the GOP OK for his appointment in the name of racial harmony and putting the past behind us for the good of the country.
I would not bet against it happening.
FBI needs to vet him. And yes January. I don’t see how the whole process occurs from after the election until swearing in. Its surely not happening between now and election day.
It’s the only way the Progressives/Commies know to go.
Unfortunately, that really is the only slim chance we have of blocking anyone that Obama nominates this year, and I don't think that any Democrat Senators will be too worried about a 2014 confirmation vote being an issue in their 2016 re-election campaigns.

And, to prove they’re not racist, enough Republicans vote ‘Yes’ to confirm him!
I would love to believe that Holder’s resignation is a sign of better and similar things yet to come, but I won’t hold my breath.
It’s sad he isn’t frog marched out of the DOJ to a federal court and then a federal slammer.
Maybe he got a heads up that his Ferguson intervention is going to backfire due to evidence that will be on the Officer’s side. Could be that any one of the scandals involving him is set to bite him (I would fear anything Trey Gowdy is investigating if it remotely concerns him).

Other possibles - Loia Lerner, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Elijah Cummings, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Roland Burris.
Bonus points for grokking the ‘Malcolm X John Lennon’ ref w/o benefit of google.

When does his jail term begin?
To anticipate the next criminal place over the ‘justice department’ one must try to glean the plans of the oligarchs, for the position Holder holds/held is a point of immense power over America’s future. Things like sending weapons to drug cartels in Mexico are not supposed to be revealed, and when they are the cover-up is the damning focus, as managed by the enemy within, the media. The real scandal is who commanded Holder in his criminality ... the Dons of the mafia families were well protected by the man running the FBI for decades.
Axelrod's other beige bolshevik monster, Deval Patrick, fellow spawn of the communist Chicago thugocracy, has worn out his welcome in Massachusetts. Watch for him to step down next and segue into the AG slot.

You would think the race card would be wearing thin with the American public. It doesn't matter what color your skin is, as long as you are willing to work hard and/or educate yourself, there are or were many great opportunities one can accomplish in this country. Hopefully we can get this country back to that state.
The left continuing to pull the race card is like the little boy who cried wolf, both gets worn out and eventually, unbelievable. Now, if only the wolf would eat the left, LOL
