I’d like to know why, too. China not only has rocketing levels of CO2 output, but some of the worst air and water pollution in the world. All that coal burning has made the air in Chinese cities unbearable and has ruined the air downwind in South Korea and Japan and even affects the air on the US West Coast under the right conditions.

If people want to protest something, protet the fact that we buy Chinese made product, and volunteer to buy more expensive, American made, products.

there’s the elitist motivation and the sheepist motivation.
The elitists are anti-capitalists, they hate not being in control of the distribution of resources.
The sheepists, on the other hand, have a weirder motivation - they derive their righteousness from their advocacy. They’re “good people” because they “care about the erf”.
No, they went back into the woodwork on 1/20/2009, and will re-emerge with then next non-liberal president in office.
