I’d like to know why, too. China not only has rocketing levels of CO2 output, but some of the worst air and water pollution in the world. All that coal burning has made the air in Chinese cities unbearable and has ruined the air downwind in South Korea and Japan and even affects the air on the US West Coast under the right conditions.

So long as China is officially Communist (even if it's really not) it can get away with anything. They could genocide the moslems of Chinese Turkestan and would never even be accused of "islamophobia."
Recall how Kim Jong Eun made racial slurs about Obama and got away with it. Apparently he outranks Obama as an icon of social justice.
