Karl Rove, Joe Trippi Handicap The Midterm Elections on FOX News Sunday
Real Clear Politics ^ | September 22, 2014 | Chris Wallace; FOX News Sunday

Posted on 09/22/2014 6:44:35 PM PDT by Din Maker

On "FOX News Sunday."

WALLACE: First, Louisiana, Bill Cassidy leads Democratic incumbent Mary Landrieu by more than five points, and Arkansas, Tom Cotton leads Democratic incumbent Mark Pryor by 2.5. Karl, how solid are those for the GOP? 2.5 points that doesn't sound very solid.

ROVE: Well, out of the last ten polls Mark Pryor has led in one; Tom Cotton has led in nine.

WALLACE: Iowa. This is an open seat in Iowa. And Democratic congressman Bruce Braley is up against GOP State Sen. Joni Ernst; it's flat tied.

TRIPPI: No, it's a dead heat. Both parties are going to put everything into this. The interesting thing is the RNC is playing catch-up in the ground game.

WALLACE: Alaska. Mark Begich trailing former attorney general Dan Sullivan by less than two points. Karl, that's a pretty close one.

ROVE: My suspicion is we're likely to see some polling data indicating this race has taken an even more pro- Sullivan tilt here in the weeks ahead.

WALLACE: North Carolina, generally considered to be a very likely pickup for the Republicans. But, Kay Hagan who was thought to be in trouble is hanging in there.

TRIPPI: I'm ready to start saying if this trend continues she's going to be re-elected.

WALLACE: Some Republicans seats are in jeopardy. Georgia is in some jeopardy the open seat there, Mitch McConnell, the Republican minority leader in Kentucky is in some trouble. The most surprising state of all is Kansas. Karl, how much trouble is Pat Roberts in in that state?

ROVE: At the end of the day, I think Roberts will win.

TRIPPI: I think Roberts is in deep trouble and probably gone. Once an incumbent starts to unravel, it's really hard to put that genie back in the bottle.

I had to excerpt a 2,000 word interview down to 300. Did my best.

Not looking real good for the Pubbies taking control of the Senate. WHY, WHY, WHY..... is it that every two years we hear that the Dems are beating us on the GOTV ground game? Have we no Tech people in the Republican Party? Geesh!

Why is Fox giving Karl Rove such a big role?

What is (badly) needed by America, is for people like Karl Rove to be sent packing.

America needs to stand up for American jobs.

And America needs to do something about that.

TRIPPI: I'm ready to start saying if this trend continues she's (Kay Hagan) going to be re-elected. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ And Karl sat there in silence. Come on Pillsbury Dough Boy, defend your choice to run and win that "easy pick" seat. Your sound of silence is deafening Karl.

With the current state of the US economy, the passage of ObamaCare and events in the Middle East, this is unforgivable.

Karl Rove, STFU.

I think it’s because he (Karl Rove, the Architecht) is Sean Hannity’s lover.

I didn’t coin, or use, that phrase. I feel the same way about: “Have a nice day.”

The "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" will NOT get the message unless THAD COCKROACH LOSES!

It is VITAL that Thad is removed, or the RINOs will do it again, and they may do it again, anyway.

REMEMBER
MISSISSIPPI

If Rove has anything to do with it, they WILL be ‘handicapped’, or straight up crippled.(depending on the state and opponent)

They might get around to it, but "they've got a lot on their plate".

Wasn’t Rove sincerely believing that the GOP would hold the Congress in 2006 all the way through election day? He’s always been overrated.

Agreed. Heads should roll (but they won't) if the GOP screws this up. There is no excuse for not taking advantage of the (many) points of attack that are available to them. You know the DemocRats wouldn't pass them up, heck, they make things up and use them successfully.

Yeah, I remember him being on the radio and TV predicting the GOP would pick up something like 25,749 House seats using his GOTV system that worked so well in 2004. Many here on FR believed him(I was one of them), which made the shock even worse on the day after. I don’t believe he was heard from again for a few months after that.

I know you’re offended by my remarks re: Rove and Hannity, but I quit listening to, or watching, Hannity because he loves Karl Rove so much and has him on his broadcast and telecast every chance he gets. Surely he knows that Karl hates Tea Partiers and Conservatives. Sean boasts of being a Conservative, yet he gives credence to everything, and anything, Rove says. A guy who would like to rid the GOP of Conservatives.

I’m no doctor, but I’m sure you suffer from BCVS. (Battered Conservative Voter Syndrome). You obviously present all of the symptoms.

If I wanted to take more time, I could probably come up with a better name that would have an acronym spells something easy to say.(big pharma could sell more drugs that way)
