Dont forget about Michael Brown and the people of Ferguson. Weve largely moved on from reading about the daily and nightly protests, civil unrest, and the toxic relationship between the St. Louis County suburbs police force and its citizens, but this story is far from over Michael Browns killer, after all, is still on paid leave. It all raises an obvious question: When will Officer Darren Wilson be charged for shooting Brown, if at all?
The simplest answer is that it could be a long time, if it even happens at all. Thats because the decision whether or not to charge him criminally for the death of the unarmed Ferguson teen is squarely in the hands of a St. Louis grand jury, and theyve been given an extension on their timeframe to make the call. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the grand jury will now have until Jan. 7, 2015 to decide. That doesnt mean they definitely will they could come out next week with their decision, theoretically but it could be that justice for Michael Brown is still a long ways off.
Wilsons current status has been one of many instigating factors in the fervent protests throughout Ferguson since the shooting, the people of Ferguson have weathered a militarized police force and the use of tear gas on otherwise peaceful protesters and journalists, while Wilson is effectively in hiding, collecting paychecks all the while. And thats not the only cash hes got coming in a GoFundMe page supporting Wilsons cause raised a staggering $235,125.
With tensions already as high as they are, it seems like a lot to ask the people of Ferguson to possibly wait over three months more just to find out if Wilson will face charges, but there you have it. Itll be essential to follow how the community responds for that stretch of time.
Obviously, theres no surefire guarantee that the 12-member grand jury will actually decide to indict Wilson (nine of the 12 need to agree to bring charges). There have been concerns by some advocates for Wilsons arrest that Ferguson police may have tainted the jury pool with the release of a videotape of Brown committing an apparent petty robbery before his death, a wholly unrelated incident. The Blots Matthew Keys revealed Sept. 5 that Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson apparently lied about why the tape was released, claiming that media inquiries forced him to do so.
In any event, its looking like a long-haul kind of situation, with a communitys collective angst and humanity hanging in the balance. And no matter what the grand jury decides, the story isnt going anywhere a criminal trial for Wilson will be every bit the high-profile media event youd expect, and if hes not indicted, thatll spark a severe amount of scrutiny too.
Chris Tognotti has felt unwanted because of his weight and says it's even harder feeling chubby and surrounded by "strikingly athletic, beautiful people.
LOL, As if that was the only reason!
Justice for Michael Brown has already occurred, and he paid a reasonable penalty for what he did.
i can’t even make up how he would be indicted for defending himself from a crip thug that broke his face and caused his gun to go off inside his car and them Bull rushed him on dope . No WAY!!!
Leftists put up a stink in re Wilson’s go fund me sites. Now, you just mail off any donation.
“...a wholly unrelated incident”
Everywhere but in the real world.
the ONLY ‘evidence’ that should be presented is the video taken MOMENTS after it happened, where an actual eyewitness describes what he saw- and it matches exactly the officers statement.
The guy can be heard saying the kid taunted the officer and charged at him. I am just glad he was alive to feel the first few shots from the officer who “ain’t gonna shoot me”
Neither one of them (the witness or the officer) could have been aware of each others statements at that time (literally minutes after it happened)
“staggering amount”? “killer”? “unarmed teen” “apparently petty robbery” ? That’s some real unbiassed reporting there, media stooge!
That's the "JUST-US" Dept. under Eric The Red, and Dept. of "JUST-US", Division of Community Resources Services , and their 50 agents in Furgeson.
They keep a lid on all the information just like in Martin vs. Zimmerman .
Then they selectively 'leak' biased information to keep you interested , if it hasn't already been done by Park and Crump's Attnys "Social Engineer",
who choreographs between facebook ,twitter, and other social media to "create social justice awareness", and released then through certain social sensative (liberal) media.
It's all spin and propaganda , until the facts come out at trial.
Still no official police report
Still no analysis of powder residue on Brown Still no analysis of powder residue on police officers hand.
Still no photo of damage when gun was alledgedly discharged within the officer vehicle.
Still no photos of the police officer's sustained injuries
Still no colored photos of the police officer's injuries to see the real extent of injury.
Still no discussion of location of the stolen "Swisher Sweets" being recovered.
Only discussion is co-defendants immunity given by the FED Gov. , depsite his apparent untruthfulness.
So far , only hearsay ...
Typical leftist .. wants what you got but doesn’t want to work for it.
No, not really.
We've grown to expect things immediately but these types of high-profile investigations take time. The police in Ferguson are under a spotlight right now and when they release the official account, they want to make sure they get it right.
There are witnesses to locate. Witnesses to interview. And then witnesses to re-interview after a little time has passed to see if their stories changed. It could be several more weeks before the official report is released.
Is this witnesses statement why the dems have tried to say they have two witnesses (which we heard the dems said were “construction workers”), and I said, “construction worker = union = democrats”.
Actually, I’d never heard of this witness before.
I feel the worst for the officer who is forever marked. Who will hire him ..?? Can he even stay in Ferguson and not be an officer ..?? This guy was just doing his job, and now he’s lost his livelihood because of some punk. Very sad.
Unrelated?? He was stopped because of the report of a strong-arm robbery. Fundamentally related.
Comply with all requests.
Yes sir/no sir, yes ma'am/no ma'am.
Do not assault the officer.
Do not attempt to grab the officers weapon.
I did read about a statement Wilson made that was part of his incident report, but was filed separately (to another LEO entity??). It concerns what happened with respect to Brown.
That’s all I know.
Pure Marxist babble.
Judging by some of the “man in the street” interviews while the unrest was going on, I think many Ferguson residents see no need for a trial. Darren Wilson should just be punished without bothering with a trial, since we know he is the person who fired the shots that killed Brown.
I think a lot of the protesting in Ferguson was done by folks mostly because it was exciting....I think most of them just had a great time, party atmosphere and each day that went by got a little less exciting for them.
For sure they will be ready to rumble again when they get the next call, just my theory.
Woulda been more, but iirc the fundraising site halted fundraising.
with a communitys collective angst and humanity hanging in the balance..
The “community” is not interested in justice, they are looking for a lynching, and are too dim to understand the irony.
