Wouldn’t be too surprising - alQaeda in Iraq attempted to use a chemical warhead they found and thought was a regular shell against US troops back in 2004 as I recall. Since it was a binary chemical weapon it didn’t blow up.
The press at the time ignored it apparently believing that you can buy just one of those things.
