Weather Trends Make Mockery of Climate Alarmists
cbn news ^ | September 17, 2014 | Dale Hurd

It's still summer, yet it has already snowed in the western United States and one of America's premier weather forecasters, Joe Bastardi at Weatherbell Analytics, is warning that for parts of the country, another bad winter is on the way.

"It's going to be a major winter for much of the eastern and southern United States," he said. "We think a formidable winter, but the core of the worst cold, relative to averages, instead of being in the northern Plains and Midwest, will be further south and east."

Last winter was bad, too -- historically bad. The Great Lakes weren't ice-free until June, when the mountainous West was still seeing snow.

Nevertheless, the United Nations keeps warning that if we don't do something to stop global warming, terrible things will happen.

"The effects of human-caused climate change are already widespread and consequential," the United Nations said.

But what effects from climate change? The Earth stopped warming 18 years ago, and the weather has made a mockery of climate change predictions.

The number of extreme weather events are down, sea levels are not rising dangerously, and not only is Antarctic ice not melting, it's the largest it's been since measurements began 35 years ago.

But world leaders, including President Barack Obama, still act like climate change is a serious problem.

"Climate change is already affecting Americans, all across the country, in every region, although in different ways," the president told reporters.

Some environmentalists are demanding world leaders do something to stop what they believe is a coming climate disaster. But the real disaster has been the inaccuracy of all those scary predictions that didn't come true.

"There's a real problem with the computer models for climate change," Dr. Pat Michaels, director of The Center for the Study of Science at the Cato Institute, said.

"By last count there were 42 separate explanations in the scientific or public literature on why it hasn't been warming. When there are 42 explanations for one phenomenon, I can tell you what that means: scientists don't know what they're talking about," he added.

Why has the Earth stopped warming? One reason is cooler temperatures in the Pacific.

"One of the major cycles of the Earth is Pacific Decadal Oscillation, which is a temperature cycle in the north Pacific Ocean," Steve Goreham, who heads the Climate Science Coalition of America, explained. "It's gone into a cool phase since about 2005, and the sun has moved into a cool phase in terms of sunspots."

Bastardi is forecasting a long-term trend toward colder temperatures.

"Over the next 20 to 30 years I think the general trend is down, back to where it was in the late 70s," he said.

In the 1970s, some environmentalists were warning of a coming ice age. Yet the president thinks the problem of global warming is so urgent, he's reportedly attempting to make an international climate deal without gaining U.S. Senate approval as required by the Constitution.

But the president may be lonely when he attends next week's climate summit in New York. A number of world leaders aren't coming.

If you ask any global warming expert (any liberal), higher temperature can actually make things colder.

In other words, the alarmists are becoming alarmed.

Just think of all the other frauds that are going on if this one that is so obvious and blatant is getting away with it scot free year after year after year. Al Gore to date has made about a quarter billion bucks from this scam. I mean just think: This whole scam is based on trace gases - gases that are barely measurable. CO2 percentage - 0.04% Methane - 0.0001% Gases that if removed completely from earth would put an end to all life and incredibly they have people believing those levels are too high instead of the obvious assessment that they are too low.

I live in eastern Michigan, on the coast of lake Huron. I’ve been turning my heat on at night for the last 5 nights. I don’t usually start that until 2 to 3 weeks from now. we’ve already had 2 frosts. Last winter we pretty much beat all cold and snowfall records going back to the 1880’s. Another winter like that and I’m applying for a job at Disneyworld.

What I find really inventive for a liar, is Al Gore’s movie that showed the world freezing over because of global warming.

Talk about having it both ways...

The temperature goes up and you’re proven right.

The temperature goes down and you’re proven right.

Pretty hard to lose on that one.

This is essentially and example of the honesty of the Left in a capsule.

I remember in 1976 running outside to see snowflakes in the winter. Of course they melted on touchdown to anything.

In the burbs of Ft. Lauderdale FL.

Across the cosmos, a breathable atmosphere is an anomaly - at far as we can tell. We are protected from the utter deep cold of space by a relatively thin region of water vapor mixed with oxygen and nitrogen.

The molten core of our planet provides insufficient heat to maintain life on the surface; as such, we are dependent on our parent star to provide the energy required to warm our atmosphere. We are absolutely dependent on a heavenly body 93,000,000 miles from our planet.

Given the above, it seems to me that we live a tenuous existence, and that we as a species are more likely to suffer hardship, even extinction, from a planet that is overly cold, than from one that is overly warm.

3 nights ago I turned the heat on as I live in the upper NE near Canada. The house was getting cold after sunfall. I turned the heat on to 68 to let the water run thru the pipes again (it’s been off all summer) and have a bit of warmth. 2 night the temps are going to go down & we’ll have the “first frost”.
I’m a weather watcher myself but then again I love cool summers and long winters... maybe I’m anomaly , I love fog, damp & rain, too.

I’ve been nurturing the local weed in my garden known as the montauk daisy. They only bloom in the fall with crisp nights and warm fall sunshine.

I’m waiting for them soon to bloom and the big show they put on. Thav have dark glossy leaves and present as a shrub during the summer growing season.

I enjoy reading all those weather records going back to when it was recorded - you’ll possibly find the BEST records at the Library of Congress.

I think the Library of Congress is the only institution that this regime has not sculpted out to fit it’s agenda,
so there’s a head’s up on the weather from me to you.

DizzyWhirl? omg! that’s so funny~

I remember a Christmas during the 70’s outside of Wash.,DC and it was totally snowless Christmas.

One of my younger brothers received a bike from Mom & Dad(obm) it was the high handlebar type but it had a type of motor on in but it wasn’t a “real” motorbike-(he was much younger & I think in retrospect my parents didn’t want him to hurt himself with a real one)

That year was no snow and 72deg outside. I remember him sitting at the top of our steep high driveway. i’ll never forget my brother seeing he got his “bike” for that Christmas.

Mom and Dad were good to us even tho we didn’t have a lot of money.

Even with all the practical evidence showing the earth going through the snail like temperature variations the groups that scream for green programs are still cashing in and walking away unscathed ...even after the systems they devise are proven worthless and more costly in the application to the grid . The fed has gotten so big that policing itself is laughable...BUT what is the most infuriating is the executive branch could be hamstrung simply by the House of Representatives defunding these black holes for tax payer monies. The den of thieves has just gotten to well coordinated ...I see no legal avenue to correct this pilfering of our treasury. Any suggestions fellow Freepers?

It’s a scam and blatant theft. It’s all about stealing money. Just think how much extra me and you have paid at the pump over the past 10 - 15 years not to mention all the other extra money we lost because of global warming “regulations”. That’s money that probably measures into the thousands just from one person and billions if not trillions worldwide, all stolen from people

Thanks for the reply- you may also want to consider Agenda 21. A lot of people when they see those words or hear them automatically cry “conspiracy” but I don’t think it’s that .

Agenda 21 has been working d*mndest in infiltrating towns & communities under the guise of “gree”, “smart living” “smart planning”, etc. you name it they’ve got the moniker that does not raise any suspicion to the population at large.

The money you speak of “probably measures into the thousands just from one person and billions and trillions worldwide, all stolen from people” is corect but it’s not
OUTRIGHT stealing. it’s quietly diverted and re-diverted back into global scallywags and carpetbaggers & some those pple are even local! LOL!
