Earlier this month, a preacher delivering a homophobic sermon set up camp outside the Carrier Library at James Madison University in Virginia. According to reports, the radical preacher was telling gay individuals they were going to hell, in addition to telling students who identified as Christians they too were headed straight to hell for living a life of sin. Instead of reciprocating with hateful rhetoric, however, JMU students responded in an admirable way.
As the preacher rages on, one student began to play the guitar while others sang the hymn How He Loves.
This is the way you handle it, Glenn said on radio this morning. This is the perfect example of: You do not defeat hate with hate. You defeat it with love. You dont defeat it with anger. You defeat it with joy.

Beck, the liberal. Calls anyone that doesn’t agree with him names.
Beck is the sole reason I will not attend or support the Value Voters Summit in Washington, D.C. (FRC-sponsored, whom I DO support.)
He is anything but a conservative.
Sounds like Brother Jed Smock. I’m guessing he has driven 100 people away from Christ for every soul his Westboro Baptist type of preaching has saved. I’m with Beck on this one.
Was President Barack a hater or a homophobe when he lashed out and called patriotic men, women, and children “teabaggers”?
Westburo is a family of lawyers (and Fred Phelps was a Democrat candidate several times).
There are some who think their whole schtick is designed to tarnish religious opposition to the homosexual agenda.
Barack said that Islamic State is not really Islamic. Has he ever said that Westburo isn’t really Christian?
lol
The more I hear from this quivering lump of jelly, the more he sickens me.
Sin means “to miss the mark.” Therefore all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. To call out sin is NOT HATE.
mighty thin supporter....one person with whom you disagree causes you to withhold support??????? Please...
FWIW, Glenn Beck is headed straight for Hell.
According to reports, the radical preacher was telling gay individuals they were going to hell, in addition to telling students who identified as Christians they too were headed straight to hell for living a life of sin.
the Bible is radical...tell people they are sinners and will enter Hell unless they repent and give their lives to Jesus...so outrageous!!!!
That is what “debate” has come to mean. Even the debating championship among colleges has descended to shouting matches
How much do you want to bet that the jerks that were drowning out the words of the preacher, went onto Facebook and bragged about it right after.
Yes, one teaspoon of raw sewage sullies the entire barrel of otherwise fresh water to the point of undrinkability. Beck is that bad.
Senator Blutarski knows how to deal with those Beatniks.
I don’t know the exact content of the preacher’s message, but if he was merely stating that those who refuse to repent of homosexuality (or fornication, adultery, lying, covetousness, idolatry, etc., etc., etc.) are going to hell, he was speaking the truth and a truth that the lost, homosexual students desperately needed to hear. If he was calling them to repentance, as opposed to simply condemning them, the singing students were badly misguided and did a terrible disservice to those they were trying to “protect”.
“5 Open rebuke is better
Than love carefully concealed.
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend,
But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” - Provers 27:5-6
“9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Glenn is working things out. Remember, his intellectual and religious formation didn’t really begin until he dried out (within the last ten years?).
He reminds me of myself. I went through a libertarian phase in college. He thinks the Founders were modern libertarians. He’ll learn, hopefully.
A lot of people here are down on Glenn. I understand why.
But I like him because he’s not lukewarm. When he perceives what he believes to be the truth, he acts on it.
The Lord prefers the hot to the lukewarm.
