Mike Huckabee dropped his biggest hint to date yesterday that he might run for president in 2016. Should he run, his national name ID and his strong 2008 run probably doom any chance Rick Santorum has (Santorum’s 2012 vote largely overlapped with Huckabee’s 2008 backers). But it also throws a huge monkey wrench into any hopes Senator Ted Cruz has of winning the nomination.

Mike Huckabee: Hillary Clinton’s (or Elizabeth Warren’s) dream come true.
I still remember when Huckabee announced on his show in 2011 that he wouldn’t be running in 2012. Then, at the end of the show, Ted Nugent came out, and Huckabee played the bass while Ted crooned “I made the pussy purr with the stroke of my hand” while singing “Cat Scratch Fever”. Was one of those moments you don’t forget.

Huck was huffing on his show one night about how offensive it was for some Republicans to call others RINOs. Beings he’s one of them, I would take offense, too, but I am a conservative, unlike RINOs of his stripe.
So, I think we ought to honor Huck’s wishes and coin a new term to describe Republicans of his ilk. I suggest:
Ricecake Republicans

Why would ANYONE believe Huckabbe is competition for Cruz?
And "no", it doesn't feel like the '70s. I lived through the '70s. 0bama is far worse than Jimmuh Cahtuh ever dreamed of being.
Yep. FReepers need to understand there's a whole lot of people out there who vote Republican and don't post on Free Republic. They see things a little differently than we do.
And to many of them, Mike Huckabee is a swell guy, a fine, upstanding Christian man.
