Rapist Who Can't Bear Prison to Be Euthanized

Frank Van Den Bleeken, a Belgian man in prison for multiple rapes and a rape-murder, has decided he wants to die and authorities have decided they can grant that request. Van Den Bleeken, 50, has been in prison for nearly 30 years and has declined to seek parole because he believes his uncontrollable urges make him a danger to society, but he says he can no longer bear prison conditions and his own "unbearable psychic suffering," AFP reports. "I am a human being, and regardless of what I've done, I remain a human being," he told Belgian TV. "So, yes, give me euthanasia." Authorities determined Van Den Bleeken met the required conditions: He is conscious, capable, and has expressed a "voluntary, considered, and repeated" request to end his life.

You aren’t serious, right? The Belgian government is not putting the guy to death. The guy has asked to be killed. Not the same situation as the Nazis at all. I don’t think the Nazis asked any of their victims if they wanted to die, and I’m pretty sure none of the victims of the Nazis asked to be killed.

While I don’t agree, I can understand the logic. The difference is that the person who is to be executed for a crime (presumably) is not being executed by his own choice. It is imposed upon him by the state. In this case, euthanasia is the choice of the criminal, not a sentence being imposed upon him by the state.

He is asking the system to put him to death, not killing himself. The system has been corrupted.

That country would put a child to death if they claimed to be depressed I bet

Zero recidivism.

Works for me.

Hitler won.

The Dutch, the Belgians...they’re all killing babies and the elderly. Jews are fleeing Europe.

Yep.
I suspect a Nazi dominated Europe would look a lot like the EU. All that is missing is the lebensraum in Eastern Europe.

I’m satisfied that he’s gone. Although, I think he should be hanged rather than euthanized.

You mean “gone” as out on a golf course, campaigning, or at secret gatherings with Islamic imams to discuss how to facilitate entry of the Mahdi after they declare the aliphatic on American soil?

Or someone else?...: )

Impressive. Euthanasia has gone full circle to become capital punishment.

This raises a very interesting question. If death row and ‘life term without possibility of parole’ prisoners in the US were polled, how many would opt for being euthanized?

In all fairness, there might have to be a minimum term in prison before they were eligible to be euthanized, say 10 years out of however many, but after that, with the permission of the board of pardons and parole (which typically reviews all death sentences, and might deny it in many cases), they could be turned off.

You have to admit, this would make a heck of a movie.

Euthanasia.

Wrong word. This is not euthanasia. It’s Capital Punishment AKA The Death Penalty.

I’ve read the article and the comments and understand the death penalty is not legal in Belgium, but even those liberal socialists understand the moral need to put this scum away, so they are trying to “pretty up” the terminology.

After all - while they don’t believe in the death penalty, they do believe in euthanasia. So that’s the verb of the day.

“Transfer” a novel by Jerry Furland described a policy called Modification Of Sentencing. The prison sentence that would ensure the criminal would never have a chance for parole could be modified at the prisoner’s request. MOS was a one time appeal, given two weeks in which the prisoner could consider his decision.

If the two weeks passed without a retraction of the request the prisoner would be given a one week period to eat, to drink, to have “spiritual counseling” conjugal visits, whatever entertainment requested, and a death gratuity paid to whomsoever the prisoner nominated to receive it.

At the end of the week the prisoner would be executed.

MOS’ing out was the slang for the inmates.

If they changed their minds during the two week period and elected not to MOS out they would never be allowed to choose to MOS out again.

Just saying... Furland nailed it years ago.

A great show was put on in Nuremberg. When the Soviet Union fell, nobody even put on a such a show. Commies streamed into Western Europe. They run every institution in the U.S. except the upstart, disreputable “freedom” organizations.

When the Clinton people left feces, urine, and graffiti all over the White House offices, G. W. Bush covered it up, in the name of “a new tone.” As we now know, the Bushes were itching to snuggle up to Bill Clinton.

If there is ever another Republican elected, we will know within ten seconds after the oath of office whether he “gets it.” If he does, “Obama” will be under arrest.

I'm all for reducing the number of prison guards, as it is a job that is not healthy for the guards, especially if you regard prison as punishment - that eventually abrades on the guards sense of prisoners as human.

So get rid of any such incurably violent SOBs as this rapist/murderer.
