Dozens of young redheaded men and women are replacing the ritual bullying of the playground with the ritual strictures of radical Islam, perhaps at least according to some experts as a result of the bullying and persecution they endure early in life.
Youve likely already made the connection between ginger hair and home-grown Islamic radicals yourself. Subconsciously, perhaps, from newspaper reports showing carrot-topped wannabe jihadis from Bradford, and TV clips of auburn brothers in east London. What you probably dont know is just how vastly over-represented redheads are in the ranks of Islamist converts.
There are no surveys of jihadis, of course. The Quilliam Foundation, a counter-extremism organisation, told us that no one keeps reliable data on white converts to Islamism. So news reports probably represent the best data set available to researchers.

Well, you get the idea.
You know the thing about a ginger, he’s got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eye.
Still only of their best episodes
I can confirm your comment...BIG TIME.
I think it’s a meeting of “Chicago Irish for Obama.”
I plan on watching “The Giver” once it’s on DVD. Right now I’m waiting for “Godzilla” to be released.
I don’t think the author of this article is using a large enough group for his conclusions-there is something weird going on in Britain...
All redheads weren’t from the British Isles-none of my ancestors came from Scotland or anywhere else even close-they’re mostly Spanish, Native American. My hair is red, there are other redheads in the family, we weren’t bullied, and have no desire to be jihadis...
You’re right. Years ago I dated a guy who’s parents came here from Italy, he had redder hair and bluer eyes than any of the red heads in my Irish family!
How about redheads with epicanthic folds?
Extremely dangerous. (grin)

Exactly-not all that uncommon in areas of Northern Italy, Northern Spain, including the Pyrenees, parts of France-they were part and parcel of the Roman Empire for more than 1000 years, speak Latin based languages, the people are been the product of Rome’s fondness for interbreeding with anyone they found interesting, anywhere.
Oops-”are/have been”.
“a ginger, hes got... lifeless eyes, black eyes”
That’s right! Like a shark, Raggedy Ann or Barney Rubble. And their earlobes: Never trust anyone with small or no earlobes—particularly a ginger.
During WWII the japs were especially cruel to red headed prisoners of war.
Redheaded women always seemed to be a lot of fun.
The color red seems to provoke people. Studies have shown that people in a room painted red are more likely to argue.
I have noticed that in pictures from Gaza, there is always some red headed, British looking guy at the funerals.
Alienation may have something to do with it. But then, you don’t see a lot of Jews becoming terrorists.
I have always been shocked by the attacks that go on towards red-headed children in GB. And it’s apparently spread to America! It’s odd to me because I think red hair is absolutely beautiful. In today’s crazed world, Maureen O’Hara would be a wallflower!
Don’t know about the eyelids but have seen some remarkably knobby brows over a non-broken hedgerow of eye brows.
FWIW, one of the most common cognomens or nicknames in ancient Rome was Rufus, which of course means Redhead.
This is all very strange to me. There was lots of bullying in the schools I went to, including of me, but I don’t remember any aimed at redheads at all.
I never even heard the term “ginger” until a few years ago, and then I thought the whole notion of their being undesirable was intended as a joke. But I guess it’s not. UK seems to be very weird in this regard.
