The mere fact that the US Army employs sociologists sends shivers down my spine.
U.S. Army sociologists... there’s the problem.
Americas enemies love these advocates.
This is just sad and disgusting. Our screwed up society is gaining ground in the military. In the 1970’s I had as a Law Enforcement Officer in the USAFE, I had a shift supervisor that was black and my first training officer was black. I respected and got along with both. Because they were good at their jobs not because of a skin color.In the military you need to have the BEST PERSON possible in the position of leadership. Not a white man or a black man or a women. The Best Person.
Promoting from the basis of merit would engender a more successful organization. A more successful organization would build moral. An organization with good moral retains more experienced people for longer periods of time. More experienced people work more efficiently and produce a better product. A better product attracts better people to the organization.
As you can see promoting on the basis of merit is one of the keys to a progressively better organization.
I guess the answer is to look at the percentage of blacks that have college degrees and compare that to the 10% number mentioned in the article.

it turns out that the percentage of blacks with college degrees is about 20%
so... blacks make up 13% of the population

so if only 20% of those 13% have college degrees...
that means that for blacks to be fairly represented, they would have to hold 2.6% of all officer positions.
The article states they currently hold 10% ...
so...
That means there are FOUR TIMES more blacks in officer positions than their should be already.

Amazing. The military is now more concerned with skin color than carrying out their missions.
No, “THE ARMY” is not worried. Jarrett, Holder, Obama, Reid, Pelosi et al are “worried”.
So the Army is saying:
To hell with leadership, accomplishing the mission, or rewarding performance, WE MUST BE PC! in today's "Action Army".
Young people need to get out of military now before the are sent to slaughter. States need to create armed militias so our young people can stay home and protect what is important to them.
I was discussing the notion of diversity with a progressive the other day. I asked him: “When you go in for your back surgery, do you want the smartest guy in the class cutting within millimeters of your spinal cord or the guy they let in to make the class diverse?” He said I was racially insensitive in response, so guess I won that one.
We need a diversity of Army sociologists, then. If they all agree then there is no diversity.
If you really want to destroy a military then debase the junior officer corps and the senior enlisted ranks. These folks are the key to an effective military.
Good, well trained soldiers will always fail with indecisive and stupid leadership. Bad senior leadership (e.g. on the order of Hitler and his gang) will cost you greatly but the middle ranks can make that loss very hard on an enemy. Damaging the middle ranks means a walkover for your enemy.
I’d bet that Sun Tzu never had sociologists in his army.
The only color that should matter is GREEN. We need to have only the BEST leading, regardless of color, B.S. like this is going to get a lot of brave men KILLED!

Official Army demographics data doesn’t give a direct numbers, but has enough data calculate on a spreadsheet:
Combat Units - Enlisted
White: 73%
Black: 12%
Hispanic: 13%
Asian and Other: 2%
The Army presents the data as 49% of all whites are in combat roles, 22% of the blacks, 39% of the Hispanics, and 33% of the Asians.
