Something extraordinary has happened.
On August 31, PLO chief and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told an audience of Fatah members that Egypt had offered to give the PA some 1,600 kilometers of land in Sinai adjacent to Gaza, thus quintupling the size of the Gaza Strip. Egypt even offered to allow all the so-called Palestinian refugees to settle in the expanded Gaza Strip.
Then Abbas told his Fatah followers that he rejected the Egyptian offer.
On Monday Army Radio substantiated Abbass claim.
According to Army Radio, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi proposed that the Palestinians establish their state in the expanded Gaza Strip and accept limited autonomy over parts of Judea and Samaria.
In exchange for this state, the Palestinians would give up their demand that Israel shrink into the indefensible 1949 armistice lines, surrendering Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. Sisi argued that the land Egypt is offering in Sinai would more than compensate for the territory that Abbas would concede.
In his speech to Fatah members, Abbas said, They [the Egyptians] are prepared to receive all the refugees, [and are saying] Lets end the refugee story. But, he insisted, Its illogical for the problem to be solved at Egypts expense. We wont have it.

It was once said “The Palestinians never miss an opportunity, to miss an opportunity....”
The “Palestinian” leadership is not interested in a peaceable, workable solution - they thrive on conflict and turmoil.
If it solved the problem, Israel would probably jump at the chance to pay but they’ve been around the block a few times.
bkmk
The palies would only agree to a “peaceable, workable solution” if they thought it *could* lead to an advantage from which they could launch on Israel with an un-peaceable solution. This rejection surprises me... not knowing the land contours, but I’d think it would include more frontage on the Mediterranean. That would significantly boost the palie ability to ship in more arms, rockets, terrorists.
This is the perfect global opportunity to turn A new Palestine into a “Green Showplace.” They could start from scratch, building a utopia that’s a zero carbon society.
Everyone could contribute, farming for export, desalination of water.. It would be paradise,
Nope... Let’s kill our children for a war that will never see them succeed.
“Palestinians” have been offered a State many times.
But they want to kill Jews more.
No State for you!
You could offer them 10,000 square miles of Heaven and they’d still turn it down, because they are so in love with fighting and murdering people.
The Med frontage would have given them access to ports and offshore oil and gas resources.
Pretty powerful statement isn’t it.
The Palestinian leadership is not interested in a peaceable, workable solution - they thrive on conflict and turmoil.
Yep. And the Palestinian leadership is not interested in any land other than Israel not because of the land but because they want the destruction of Israel. Otherwise the muslims has millions of sand hills they could offer the Palestinins.
And we’d be lucky too, because given six months there, they’d have caused war there again too. Peace is not exactly their forte.
Egypt appears to be trying.
As for the Palistinians, I’m leaning toward the Emperor Palpetine approach.
Therefore, I shall refer to them as Psychostinians.
C'mon. Be creative.
There's a way to make this happen without the PA leadership:
Declare the designated strip of land a safe haven of some kind for Palestinian refugees. Offer free land and services. Say it will be under Egyptian administration for a set period of time and then there will be local elections. After which autonomy, and later complete independence. Create a new state without the PA's blessing.
Some like that. I don't have all the details. Just thought it up in the time it took me to type the words.
This would pull the rug out from under the PA leaders.
