The Left are outraged by Ray Rice and domestic violence, but perfectly happy to have women raped, maimed, and killed in combat. Also to have women injured and killed while working as police officers and firefighters. And not to forget the 52% of murders in and just outside the womb that are perpetrated against females.
I heard that he spat at her.
Wow that thing is ugly!
Actions have consequences money honey. A suggestion—hold a public press announcement with the lovely couple and let Ray apologize and show they are both a united, loving and committed couple going forward if he has any chance of reviving his NFL career. Otherwise see ya.
She has a problem with co-dependency. Some nut job on FOX and Friends said something to the effect of “next time take the stairs” ...
He’s done it before, apparently:
I asked this question elsewhere on another topic but it seems the NFL is trying to promote an image against domestic violence which is understandable. However, if this was a woman leaving her office job and she was innocently decked by an NFL player, the exception being she was unknown to the person, is the NFL saying the crime is considered less vile because it isn’t “domestic violence”? I assume the Dems in 2016 will advance domestic violence issues perhaps ad nauseum, under a female liberal candidate, but violent acts run rampant through society and yet some seems to dismiss them by comparison.
Per late reports, another video with audio shows the 2 in the elevator. Supposedly, they are arguing, profanities, she spits at him.
[hmmmm.]
I don’t care about these people, I don’t watch football. But, should every person with a domestic abuse record be fired from their job or is it only people in the public eye! I don’t care what was on the video, no prosecutor is going to bring charges based on a video if the victim refuses to testify, unless the crime is beyond doubt! I’ve seen the video and she rushed him, he should not have hit her but if she were a stranger it would be deemed self defense.
I was multitasking trying to provide for the family plus the non-producers.
So, He spat on her, then knocked her ass out.
...then she married him.
What a pair. ..they deserve one another.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the two fought prior to this incident. Not minutes before, but days or weeks and this was the escalated result.
This whole incident reminds me of something that happened to my dad when I was a kid.
There was a group of white-trash rednecks living a couple of houses away. One night the old man was relaxing on the porch and heard a loud fight going on down at that house. One of the girls who lived there was having the living snot smacked out of her by her boyfriend. Ever chivalrous, my father ran to her aid. The boyfriend ran away and left her bruised and bloody in the street.
When he tried to help her up and asked if she was all right, she gave him this nasty glare and barked at him that he should “mind his own f***ing business!” Then she took off after the boyfriend.
My dad was stunned. Taught me at a tender age that unfortunately you just can’t help some women.
Even my Janay not that stupid
I heard on WEEI this morning that he spat at her when they were outside the elevator, near the column, at which point she kind of swatted him, or at him. She may have then spat at him in the elevator. Unfortunately, the site that has the long video is tied up, so I couldn’t verify what was said on the radio.
It’s mob rule, plain and simple. Same as we are seeing in so many other parts of our society right now. I can even see reevaluating the 2 game ban and changing it to six to match the new policy or even longer. I don’t blame the NFL for taking additional action after yesterday.
My only argument with your point (and we’re mostly in agreement), is that the video did show me a ‘worse case’ scenario of what happened. We knew he did it, we just didn’t know what ‘it’ was until yesterday and that was much more brutal than other possible scenarios. Without this evidence in play, we didn’t know what went down. We just knew it go physical and she ended up unconscious. I imagined a scenario where she got phyical with him (more than finger pointing and shoving), and he could have lost his cool and pushed her off to the point where she hit the wall or floor. While that’s not much better, it could have been unintentional. This scenario was out and out violence against her. It was worst case scenario, in my book. Without this video, we didn’t know for sure, and could not say beyond doubt how the scene we saw in the last video came to be. We knew it wasn’t good, but how bad was in question.
What a setup and nobody’s pinged Lazamataz...
So in effect she is being punished as well.
Thank you for saying that.
Even with time, presumably an agent, attorneys and various other hanger ons, THIS was the statement she came up with?
While I loath the mob style justice culture (ban him for life!) it’s that SAME culture they produced these TWO not so upstanding citizens.
This isn’t a black issue; it’s a low class thug issue. An entitlement issue. For Ray Rice to have made it to the NFL a lot of concessions had to be made behavior wise; grade wise; a lot of looking the other way...because he could make his HS, college then NFL team win. A lot of other kids that encountered him on the way up, also had to be move out of the way for HIM to succeed...leading (in my opinion) RR to be entitled to act w/o consequences (somebody will make it all right).
Janay is a part of that same entitlement culture (don’t mess with out lifestyle—don’t you know I hit the BabyMama Lottery?). She’ll put up w/his issues to fulfill her own. Toss in sudden millions and this is what we end up with.
Make him the example...but do the SAME for the next guy and the next...and maybe an impact will occur culturally. When there are five or six Ray Rices OUT of the game and out of millions then maybe the entire culture of HOW pro athletes are coddled and created will change.
