Will Justice Do Justice in Ferguson?

It has been over a month since Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Mo., and we have yet to hear the police officer's version of events. Was Officer Darren Wilson badly injured in his scuffle with Brown? Did Brown attempt to seize the officer's weapon? Did Wilson have reason to fear for his own life?

None of these answers has been forthcoming, which is odd and, frankly, suspicious. There are many possible explanations for the tragic death of Brown ranging from justifiable self-defense by Wilson to bad judgment by both parties and all the way to racially motivated murder. But the news that Eric Holder's Justice Department is undertaking an investigation hardly instills confidence that the truth will ever be known.

Though Holder didn't go quite as far as Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon did in prejudging the matter -- Nixon said the officer should be "prosecuted" -- Holder did declare that he was investigating the shooting not just as attorney general, but "as a black man." It's clear that the Justice Department investigation, like most of the reporting about Ferguson, is premised on the "racist white cop shoots black man" narrative.

The Department of Justice recently concluded an investigation into the Newark, N.J., police department, which it found to have repeatedly violated the civil rights of Newark's black residents. The evidence? Justice found that while blacks comprise 54 percent of Newark's population, they represent 85 percent of pedestrian stops and 79 percent of arrests.

Police misconduct must always be taken seriously and be vigilantly corrected, but these numbers do not come close to proving police wrongdoing, far less denial of Newarkers' civil rights. To know whether 85 percent of pedestrian stops is the right number, you need to know how many pedestrians of various races are committing crimes. If 90 percent of pedestrian criminals are black, then 85 percent might be too low. In any case, the relevant measure is the percentage of criminals, not, as the Justice Department explained, whether "officers ... disproportionately stopped black people relative to their representation in Newark's population."

Though it wasn't mentioned in the DOJ's report, Newark's police department is quite racially mixed. As of 2000, it was 37 percent black, 27 percent Hispanic and 36 percent white. That's a higher percentage of black police officers than the typical American city of that size. According to DOJ's own Bureau of Justice Statistics, the average percentage of black police officers for cities with populations of between 250,000 and 500,000 is 16.5 (and 11.2 percent Hispanic).

Announcing the department's report, Holder went heavy on the implied racism. "We're taking decisive action to address potential discrimination and end unconstitutional conduct by those who are sworn to serve their fellow citizens," he declaimed. It's possible that Newark police are engaged in wrongdoing, but the DOJ's use of statistics certainly didn't prove it. If the attorney general believes that black and Hispanic officers are stopping and arresting black people out of racial animus, he failed to say so, and if not, he's in effect arguing that all of the misconduct is attributable to the roughly one-third of the force that is white.

The Justice Department has announced multiple investigations into the Ferguson and surrounding police departments in the St. Louis area. This is consistent with Justice's extremely aggressive pattern vis-a-vis local police. It's already investigating 34 other jurisdictions for "violations of civil rights." The department "helps" local police to avoid racial profiling, The Washington Post explained.

Again, the image of black civilians versus white police officers dominates the imagination of the press and the Obama Justice Department. But most large and medium-sized cities have significant numbers of minority police. Washington, D.C.'s police force is majority black, as is Detroit's. In Los Angeles, 43.6 percent of officers are Hispanic, 11.6 percent are black and 34.9 percent are white. In New York, 54 percent are white, 16 percent black, 24 percent Hispanic and 4 percent Asian. The New Orleans police department is 51 percent black, 46 percent white, 2 percent Hispanic and 1 percent Asian.

A neutral investigation into the events in Ferguson is obviously needed. Holder's Justice Department, locked as it is in a space/time warp where all American cops are presumed Bull Connors, is not likely to produce it.

HOLDER is a racist.

There will be NO justice for Officer Darren Wilson.

Brad Thor Explodes on ‘Racist’ Eric Holder Over Attorney General’s Controversial Remarks

Jul. 14, 2014 7:13pm Erica Ritz

Number one New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor was scheduled to speak on The Glenn Beck Program Monday about his new book, Act of War. But in something Beck said he has never seen, Thor grew so heated after seeing Attorney General Eric Holder claim there is a “racial animus” behind the opposition to President Obama, the author forwent 9 minutes of airtime to sell his book so he could react to Holder.

“Mr. Holder, the one true racist in this dialogue is you,” Thor remarked. “You see everything through the prism of race. You are the racist. You are using racism to cover up the inadequacy of the performance of the president of the United States, and the absolute dereliction of duty in your office. You, sir, are the racist.”

Thor said there is a “war on truth” in this country, and “it’s coming from the left.”

No. They are not looking for justice in Ferguson. They are looking for scape goat[s] and to legally lynch a policeman.

In the olden days, we were patient enough to wait for the trial by law instead of the trial by media.

Justice is not being sought here — especially by Obama/Holder’s Justice Dept. That has been shown early on when Black Panther thugs were intimidating voters in the 2008 election and Holder did nothing. Apparently their skin color entitled them to shout racial epithets and threaten voters with clubs.

Then we had the POTUS take sides before Zimmerman was even accused of a crime, saying that the obvious aggressor looked like his son.

Nonetheless, Zimmerman got a fair trial and the result was the #knockOUTgame in which racially motivated crimes were perpetrated upon anyone who was the wrong color in the wrong place at the wrong time — and small, elderly and/or disabled.

In that case and in the latest farce ongoing in Ferguson, guilt or innocence is to be determined by race, not evidence. Hence we have the spectacle of a black preacher calling for a lynching based upon race — and missing the irony.

So once again, the good people of Ferguson who are charged with investigating what happened on that fateful day are confronted with the choice of being fair based upon evidence or offering a sacrifice to appease a racially charged mob.

They have to know if the latter choice is made, those born into the Designated Oppressor group will not react as those born as Designated Victims; they will not riot.

So our society as a whole is faced with the impossible choice of Justice vs. Peace.

If they make the choice of the coward, will that satisfy the mob or will that only whet their appetites for more blood?

Yes I hope justice comes through as the thug who assaulted two guys, one being a cop, and robbed a store should be found guilty while the cop was within his right.

oh right sorry, seems we don;t hold thugs responsible anymore after Obama and Holder told us all to ignore facts.

Some history: Richard Nixon was roundly criticized for prejudging the guilt of Charles Manson! This is how far we have fallen from an understanding that government officials should not make any statement which can prejudice an investigation.

Now it seems a politically correct public lynching of police officers is just fine.

The DOJ has been training activists to gin up controversies like this in order to justify the coming federal takeover of local law enforcement.

National police force, here we come.

Yep......police are going to stop proactive crime measures in black neighborhoods. Those areas will become killing zones.

To a certain extent, it is already here and has been for a number of years. The camel came into the tent via the “Federal Grants” to local law enforcement agencies. Just as it entered the educational tent. The educational group learned quickly that once one accepts the king’s coin, one does the king’s bidding. The law enforcement group has yet to learn the full ramification of this. But it will.

Western Journalism

L. Todd Wood

May 21, 2014

"Okay, I’m just gonna say it. Taking in the national press on a daily basis for the last several years, one could be forgiven for coming to the conclusion that our first family is racist against white people. This conclusion flies in the face of the trumpeted post-racial America the Obama administration was supposed to usher in. Newly elected President Obama was supposed to bring us a multicultural utopia; after all, he is half white. The world was supposed to be saved, and seas would stop rising. Yes, we’ve all heard that famous quote from our president.

I don’t come to this conclusion lightly. It has been developed over the years as I watch example after example brought to the light of day in our national media. Of course, he doesn’t come right out and say it. However, I learned a long time ago that if it looks, walks, and talks like a duck, well, you know.

Let’s take the New Black Panther Party controversy for a moment. This is a group that blatantly espouses anti-white and antisemitic views. Even the Southern Poverty Law Center has called them a black racist hate group. When several of their thugs showed up at polling centers at Philadelphia in 2008 carrying police batons and calling out racial slurs at voters, the Obama administration declined to prosecute that for voter intimidation. It’s not hard to imagine what would have happened if members of the Klu Klux Klan showed up at an Alabama polling station carrying weapons. Enough said."

Mona, Mona, Mona,

Officer Wilson is doing exactly as he should be doing...keeping his mouth shut. Not talking to reporters or anyone else about what happened. Let the Grand Jury do it’s thing and either indict him or not.

They want revenge and they are getting it. The City of Ferguson is caving to demands left and right and we have State Senators who are leading citizens on to busy highways to protest.

The protest groups are threatening even more and escalating civil disobedience to further their agenda.

When Wilson is not indicted this area, and others, are going to explode in violence. I urge everyone to take all the precautions they can to be safe, even if you don’t live anywhere near Ferguson, Missouri. Justice for BigMike is going to be had, like it or not.
