Fifty years after he created the sandwich that launched America's top chicken restaurant chain, Georgia businessman Samuel Truett Cathy died early Monday. Cathy's Chick-fil-A has now grown to $5 billion in annual sales, and its stores still close on Sundays, reflecting its founder's religious beliefs.
Cathy's death was announced by Chick-fil-A, which said, "He died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones."
Last year, Chick-fil-A surpassed KFC with the most sales for a chicken restaurant chain in the U.S., on the strength of recent rapid growth. The company reached $1 billion in sales in 2000. After hitting $3 billion in 2009, sales grew by $1 billion every two years to 2013

I read a lot of the leftist/gay comments about him and they sure are not TOLERANT of opposing views! They are downright UGLY! I knew they were full of hate but I didn’t know they were THIS bad.
as soon as I heard, that was my first thought.
I used to love their chicken nuggets and waffle fries... But the past few years, at least at our local C-F the chicken’s breading is too sweet and the fries weren’t very crispy.
I guess St Peter was in a hurry for that Chicken Sandwich...

That doesn’t surprise me either. I especially love the irony that “Simple Whore @GayAtheistLH” is so certain that Mr. Cathy is “roasting-in hell.”

Samuel Truett Cathy leaves a wonderful legacy. All three of my daughters got their first job at Chick-Fil-A. All three went on to graduate from college (one finished graduate school too) and marry conservative men worthy of them.
I read about that this morning on Yahoo. Some of the comments below the article were absolutely disgusting.

Sure are a lot of hateful pigs on Twitchy. And I seriously doubt this will cause the chain to start opening on Sunday. This company actually has principles.
