A Meteorite crashed to Earth Sunday afternoon, in Central America.
The crater, located in the capital city of Nicaragua, is about 60 feet / 20 meters across, located near the international airport.

This is BS IMO. The meteorite would have been hotter’n ‘H’ as it cut through the grasses, and they, and the trees would have been burned/scorched by the hot flaming object had it come from outer space. I see no indication of heat in anything that would have been touched by, or close to the super heated object.
The Earth appeared to be freshly dug up by some machine opposed to impact of a large object at high speed. So NO I don’t buy this at all.
If big enough, most likely put a hole straight thru it. NYT will report that women, children, and minorities were hardest hit.

20 years ago we were barely aware of them. 10 years ago we knew they passed by earth sometimes. Today we know the solar system is a shooting gallery.
A site with tracking of many potentially economically viable asteroids. Many many more aren’t shown and just as many are out there but haven’t been spotted. Earth is the dotted blue line.
Global warming causes the atmosphere to expand, thus increasing the capture radius and ensuring that more meteorites will impact earth... all because of your SUV.
Meteors which would have missed the earth in the ice age of the 1970s now will hit the top of the atmosphere, slow down and plummet into the Earth.

Yup.
From the size of the crater it is possible to approximately calculate the size of the object and the energy it releases.
When a large object hits, it creates an effect not unlike a Bomb, in this case a very small one, only without radioactivity.
Though I guess it wouldn’t be impossible to have a meteorite that contained radioactive materials.
