The campaign to separate Scotland from the rest of the UK is in the lead for the first time ahead of the independence referendum later this month, according to a new poll.

A YouGov survey found that the pro-independence campaign, led by the Scottish first minister Alex Salmond, had a two point lead of 51 per cent over the unionists’ 49 per cent.

The poll for the Sunday Times is the latest evidence of a dramatic surge for the Yes campaign, which has seen the campaign recover from a 22 point deficit in just one month.

"The answer is that 90% of English people want to keep the NHS public and retain it free at the point of need. And the vast majority across the whole UK dislike the Bedroom Tax and would even consider more taxes to make our NHS better."

Socialist never understand what hypocrites they are!

Oh I hate taxes!

But if I can get free stuff taxes are just fine.

Funny; last I heard the Scottish Nationalist Party was solidly in the socialist camp. So the Tories have joined up with the socialist to push for independence?

The goodnews is that the Tories would become the dominaant party in England. They could then repeal socialism and remove the muslims.

Ousting him would make sense, but it would be better to dissolve Parliament and require new elections.

So why do foreign nationals get a vote in Scotland?

Especially on something like secession.

Soviet Scotland, and then England governed by the putrid ‘Conservative’ Party. What a tragic end to the empire.

God created whiskey to keep Scotland from becoming a world power...

And thus far this divine intervention has proved to be one of the more remarkable miracles that has been visited upon the world.

But once Islam has become the state religion of the newly independent Scotland, the drinking of whiskey will diminish sharply, and the natural inclinations of the Scots people will reassert themselves, providing the world with the most bloodthirsty bunch of pirates the world has ever known, this time working for Allah, rather than the Druids.

Hmm. England taxes and spends their people into the ground. It gives benefits to all the Muslim wives and concubine brought in. It's led by liberals that have finally made enough people mad such that the UKIP is set to finally help correct a little of this excess.

Throw in on top if all of this that all the liberal media states it should ‘t be done, and I think you have a wonderful set of reasons to leave England.

It's the Brave, New World I would choose.

From all I had read about this up until this point, I would have thought it had overwhelming approval.

Oh, ....US media. Never mind.

Having read a number of these threads I am not shocked to find that a number of the names that often grace FR with wholly unconservative positions and support for the GOPe pols —ALSO— are having fits about the Scots taking their self determination and governance into their own hands.

Who would have guessed....

A majority of French Canadians voted for Independence.

What flipped the vote for continued Union was English Canadians and minorities that reside inside Quebec.
