The Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility launched its TV advertising campaign yesterday to promote Initiative 594, a statewide ballot measure to broaden background checks on all gun purchases.
The ad, titled "Prevent," features former Bellingham Chief of Police Don Pierce. Citing FBI data, in the ad, Pierce credits current background check laws with stopping more than 40,000 people "felons, domestic abusers, you name it" from purchasing guns in Washington state.

From the article, I came to the conclusion that the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility endorses firearms registration, the first step to totalitarian government. Know where the guns are and come for them later.
Nowhere in the Second Amendment does it mention registration. That’s what the British wanted for the colonists.
The only thing liberals want to restrict are rights specifically guaranteed in the US Constitution.
How about background checks for:
Presidential candidates?
Anyone else running for a national office?
For all people hired by the federal government?
And Illegal aliens?
People claiming welfare?
People trying to vote?
Background checks and medical examinations for foreigners applying for visas or trying to enter the country for any reason?
OK. Conservatives. Libertarians. Classical Liberals. Christians.
BTTT!
Does anybody know the stats on crime with guns that are transferred between private sellers?
We need universal background checks for voting

Yeah, but we know they are immune to facts, logic, reason or any other human trait.
We’re too stupid to understand what those words mean. That’s why we have a federal court system: to explain the meaning of all those complicated words and ideals. /S
It’s all about back-door registration so they can confiscate when the time comes.
The ATF already has maps with the homes of documented gun-owners circled in red.
anyone who had a good high school history class, or political science.....knows that USA is not supposed to have any gun registration, background checks, controls, licenses, permits, you name it.
a big, big part of the American revolution was fighting against King George’s attempts to force gun control regulations here
and the Constitution, the Federalist Papers and other documents of the day make very clear that the decision was taken to prohibit any such governmental infringements with the citizens’ right to keep and bear arms
They were not stupid people in 1776. They realized that guns can sometimes be involved in accidents, also occasionally in crimes. But, they feared far, far more any government that attempts to restrict, limit, regulate, license, permit, or otherwise inhibit gun ownership (or carrying)
There not being a perfect answer, the one our Founders chose to fight for, and chose to bestow to us today, was the clearly far better choice
History has proven this, look at any dictatorship (communist, nazi national socialist, or just plain old-fashioned tin pot variety...you name it), and the first thing the local Stalin/Hitler does.. is to try to force gun control (and eventual confiscation) down the throats of the formerly-free people
we need courts that will obey the constitution the judges are sworn to uphold
it is that simple
“...the right of the people to keep and bear arms Shall Not Be Infringed...
The thing that pisses me off is that the guy pushing this whole thing, the head of Washington Ceasefire, is a relative newcomer to our state...from New York!! And his name is Fascitelli. Root word Fascist?
I agree with universal background checks as long as they do not record what type the weapon is or record any serial numbers. Verify the person is not a criminal, issue a card saying so and they are allowed to carry any weapon where ever they please.
ha!
well, its ridiculous anyway.
they maybe can pass a law but they can’t collect the 400 million +/- arms already distributed from coast to coast
(do you know even one person who’d give up his arms?)
not likely
these people are either nuts, outright enemies of America, or just living in a (drug-induced?) dream world of their own
I-594 faces a competing measure this November, Initiative 591, which would prohibit the state from mandating additional background checks unless required by federal law. Both are expected to win so hello courts.
.
do you really trust them not to keep records?
If there is no serial number on the form indicating what we are buying, I want them to keep records showing that you and I are legally permitted to own, buy and sell our firearms and ammunition.
