Update 1:53 -- CNN reporting two pilots appear to be unconscious
(Excerpt) Read more at syracuse.com ...
The pilots and anyone else on the plane were likely dead. This is what happens when a plane at high altitude loses compression. It flies on autopilot until it runs out of fuel.
Not sure but it might be from flightaware.com
I wonder where the F-15s were from? Is there an airbase near Miami? It seems there should be.
Thanks.
Probably a little expensive to build an mandatory warning system for aircraft, canary would be cheaper, but it probably couldn’t withstand many G’s but hypoxia can be fatal if one doesnt recognize the symptoms in time to go on oxygen or get to a lower altitude.
We now have two fairly recent incidents indicating hypoxia overcame people before they were aware of the problem. In the AF we trained by actually experiencing hypoxia to become aware of our own personal symptoms, and even then there is no guarantee. Oddly enough todays plane was flying at the exact altitude I trained at back in the day, in the altitude chamber.

that would be 25,000 ft.
Silly question...
These planes don’t have O2 sensors?
“I wonder where the F-15s were from”
F-16’s at Homestead Air Reserve Base, south of Miami, or From Tyndall?
“Larry and Jane Glazer on plane”
Yes, pressurized planes have all sorts of safety systems and warning systems regarding the pressurization system.
Keep in mind that this plane was one of the very first of this version to be produced, earlier this year.

“The first two TBM 900s were delivered to their lucky owners in a ceremony held March 24 at the Fantasy of Flight Park in Polk City, Fla. On hand was new owner Larry Glazer...”
For some reason I thought Homestead AFB was closed but I just looked it up and it isn’t. I guess that is where they came from.
Tyndall is way up in the panhandle and has 3 squadrons of F-22s. I bet they would not use them.
What’s happening?
Crashed. Davy Jones Locker time.
thanks
McDill is near there.
Probably shouldn’t do more than two doobies before flying!
There seems to be a lot of that going around these days. I wonder why? It is so easy to avoid.
A little more than two months ago an unexplained private plane crash killed another East Coast beloved philanthropist and nice guy, Lewis Katz and several others. He, too, was a giant of community service and giving. Katz was not the pilot, but the professional pilot was very experienced.
