Getting local and state governments away from the federal government trough is hard.
I keep plugging away.

The cost to keep track of who is getting subsidized meals. who is brown-bagging and who is paying (and behind in payments) is most likely more than just feeding all the kids.
It would be far more efficient for schools to ask for churches or private charities to come in and feed the children, and it would also have the added benefit of not stealing money from people who don’t want to spend money on feeding children. This was one of the many goals the Left had in mind when they invented their degenerate concept of “the separation of church and state”; they need worthless bureaucrats drawing a salary and voting Dementocrat.
Ok, ugh!
Someone produces the food, someone packages it, someone stores it, someone ships it, someone distributes it, someone sells it, someone serves it, someone records the distribution and someone cleans it up
They ALL get paid
It IS NOT FREE
If a mom were to get up and put some leftovers or a little rice and beans into a recyclable covered dish, then it would be practically free, but it is not free
And if my kids did not report that the kids on the “free meal” deal were the ones with the best phones and iPods it would not be as galling
But it IS NOT FREE!
So are food stamps reduced?
Illegal immigration keeps rocking the nation... Now, just show up for free food paid for with fake Fed dollars!
Whee!
You have to be able to read and write to apply. And applications can be tracked.
So now, it is about 'free' meals and a drive through 'education'. (This way, there won't be incentive to brown-bag it and the food intake of all the kids can be controlled. We wouldn't want the kids to eat anything her hindness didn't approve of--for the rest of us, of course.
Just can’t get enough of those coocoo Puff’s
Yuck
An entire generation that will never know any way other than being fed at the government hog trough.

When they are ready to buy me a new car let me know, I think we are getting close
Nice for the school boards to have so much money.
While they beg for funding from Corbett.
School administrators on the teet of government.
Their entire world is taxpayer funded. Salaries, transportation, food. Student to teacher to grave.
Welfare and entitlement out of control!..... and all it does is keep more government school union workers in jobs.
What happens to those who bring their own?
I was heartened to hear that at my son's school, two thirds of the kids refuse the "free" lunch and still brown bag.
TANSTAAFL!
I am all but certain that the entire Public School system of Cleveland has ‘free lunch’ and breakfast. Yes, all the kids that have this are also o food stamps.
Food stamps are very generous, depending on the local area a family of our can get around $700 month of food stamps.
