It would be far more efficient for schools to ask for churches or private charities to come in and feed the children, and it would also have the added benefit of not stealing money from people who don’t want to spend money on feeding children. This was one of the many goals the Left had in mind when they invented their degenerate concept of “the separation of church and state”; they need worthless bureaucrats drawing a salary and voting Dementocrat.
But then the government could not hire a bunch of bureaucrats to administer the problem and cronies to provide the food services..
