So how did they think Seattle eventually came to be?

The place wasn’t built by Indians.

And let’s not forget about William Clark. Rumor has it he had a thing for pretty little Indian girls. So if you ever see a red headed Indian down on the Washington/Oregon coast you’ll know the real reason Lewis and Clark came west. So how long will it be before Clark County, Washington is renamed?

Senator Jesse Helms refused to sign the national holiday bill for the wife-beating, plagerizing communist Micheal (real name) King. He said he was a communist and if he had nothing to hide why did the FBI seal his records until 2017. I think Helms said he thought Reagan was suffering from memory problems when he approved the holiday. Long live the memory of the great Jesse Helms, the greatest senator in US history.

VD. Caught by Columbus’ men, brought back to Europe. Indians did share what they had.

Columbus Day has become a celebration of Italian-American culture...

Right you are: That's why I agree with these bozos, get rid of Columbus Day.

It needs to be replaced with Leif Ericksson Day. He got here before Columbus.

Why don’t these asinine idiots give their land, homes and possessions back to the Indians and move the hell out of America.
Indians would be happy and we would be happy.
Problem is these Libs want to change the holiday, but don’t want to give up a day off from work.

I assume that NONE of those idiotic liberals (redundancy?) are currently living on land that was formerly occupied by their precious “indigenous peoples?”

Reason 27 why I’m glad I don’t live in Seattle.

The eastern part of Washington state is nice though. Even reasonably red.

Seattle ought to:
(1) Rename the holiday in Seattle as European Oppressor’s Day
and
(2) Require everyone who works for the City of Seattle to work from midnight to midnight for no pay.

Well then if he did not come here and pave the path way to America. I guess those liberals have to go back where their families came from. Oh well, bye. Have a good trip.

One narrator on a program on H2 probably said it best-soon the issue won’t be who discovered America, but who didn’t...

It appears that the Solutreans from what is now Europe got here 20,000 years ago or earlier when the sea levels were much lower because of the ice. Columbus was just the “discoverer” who was backed with the most money, by the Spaniards who wanted to raid, enslave and steal from the natives to get the jump on Britain for a new place to operate from and steal the bucks to finance their expansion.

Since the ancestors of so many of us-me included-were a combination of Native and Spanish, and the natives were likely already a combination of a bunch of others-including Africans-think “Olmecs” etc-what is the point in anyone at all asking for reparations-we were all likely badly treated/enslaved by newbies aka conquerors-from day one in pre-history...

Seattle is run by people with the sense and sensibility of a Junior High School Associated Student Body council.

Thanks to Columbus and Europeans, indiginous people, who, before Columbus, were living as savages in hellholes, can live a life proper to a rationa being in a civilized society, if they would stop whining and being victims. Boo fricken hoo.
