PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. A 51-year-old bicyclist remains in intensive care at VCU Medical Center after he was targeted in what a witness called a knockout game-style attack.
The man was riding his bicycle on River Road near the Prince George County-Hopewell line at about 7:30 Sunday morning when a car came up from behind and slowed down, the bicyclists friend said.
The friend, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, said someone in the car reached out and hit the bicyclist in the back with either his hand or an object. The bicyclist had time to yell for help before he veered off the road and collapsed.
The bicyclist had suffered a massive heart attack.
Doctors told the bicyclists father-in-law the strike to the back put pressure on his heart which caused it to stop beating.
Fortunately for the bicyclist, a nurse drove by moments after the attack.
Shes checking for a pulse, the friend who witnessed the incident said. She says he has no pulse, lets roll him over. We roll him over and she starts chest compressions.
Prince George County Police are investigating the assault.
They evidently had to slow down enough to pull up along side him and hit him, the witness friend said about the seemingly random attack.
The witness friend said the car involved was a dark colored Ford Taurus-type car. The victim was unable to provide a description of the people in the car.
I would love to see them caught because next time they may kill somebody, the bicyclists father-in-law said. If they get away with it once, theyll do it twice.

I will say one thing about the “Knockout Game” attackers:
They are all cowards.
Huh?? Prince George County and Hopewell are adjacent. River Road goes through both.
You must be mistaking Prince George County, VA for Prince George’s County, MD.
I regard groups of young black men about the same as a swarm of bees. They are probably just doing their own thing, but I have no interest in finding out. I would not walk within easy striking distance of them even with my hand on my CC. I’m not afraid. But they are stupid enough for the most part to get themselves shot and then the SHTF. So, what’s the point.
As for biking alone in Prince George’s County, I’d sooner work in the ebola clinic in Liberia.
Life sentence; death if the victim dies.
there’s a Prince George county VA?
I knew PG county MD and River Road MD was just missing Hopewell.
and now I see the story tags PG county VA.
/facepalm
How would that have helped in this situation?
I beg to differ. Prince George County in Virginia surrounds much of the Petersburg, Hopewell and Fort Lee communities.
Prince Georges County in Maryland is southeast of Washington.
Yet another name artifact from our Colonial past. People should check-out the intentions of the British Aristocracy about what they would do with the land once that pesky rebellion was quashed. Not universal by the Brits but some very large wishes and dreams for large estates and counties (Count so&so)!
I think events at Yorktown settled those issues.
I was at Dorney Park in Allentown, PA. I was stopped, watching a performance act, when a young black male made a beeline for me. I turned to face him and made direct eye contact. He veered away and kept walking. I told my husband about it and we later spotted him hanging with a larger group of feral teens. They are cowards. You have to show you will not be intimidated or they will pounce on you. You can feel the hatred and distain coming off in waves from their bodies.
They’ll stop when we fight back. If it was visiable, they would move on to the next victim. Free Republic is even going left. We’re doomed.
northeast, actually... and yes, I was unaware there was a PG county near Richmond (I spent my time in the metro-dc area between Greenbelt, Annapolis and NoVA)
Many of these chaps are seriously deranged. Like putting a vicious monkey in baggy pants. While I admire your courage, for me, discretion is the better part of valor. I really do avoid them and places they are likely to hang out. I am sure I have missed a lot of public events since the riots here in 2001 when thug drug dealer Timothy Thomas was shot by a police officer in fear of his life and all Hell broke loose.
But, coincidentally, just this May our criminal prosecuting attorney’s adult son was beaten within an inch of his life by racist black thugs, who also beat his girlfriend. If the prosecutor’s adult son cannot attend the Taste of Cincinnati, I’ll just be satisfied to hear about it on TV

But the perps were ‘unarmed’!
“This sounds like an unfortunate and random attack-from-behind on a public roadway.”.....
“Sucker punched”
Note to self: Avoid people of color...especially males.
of course try to be aware and not so naive, but i have yet to be in any situation that i can’t carry at least my smaller “equalizer” unless im naked, i will be carrying!
