PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. A 51-year-old bicyclist remains in intensive care at VCU Medical Center after he was targeted in what a witness called a knockout game-style attack.
The man was riding his bicycle on River Road near the Prince George County-Hopewell line at about 7:30 Sunday morning when a car came up from behind and slowed down, the bicyclists friend said.
The friend, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, said someone in the car reached out and hit the bicyclist in the back with either his hand or an object. The bicyclist had time to yell for help before he veered off the road and collapsed.
The bicyclist had suffered a massive heart attack.
Doctors told the bicyclists father-in-law the strike to the back put pressure on his heart which caused it to stop beating.
Fortunately for the bicyclist, a nurse drove by moments after the attack.
Shes checking for a pulse, the friend who witnessed the incident said. She says he has no pulse, lets roll him over. We roll him over and she starts chest compressions.
Prince George County Police are investigating the assault.
They evidently had to slow down enough to pull up along side him and hit him, the witness friend said about the seemingly random attack.
The witness friend said the car involved was a dark colored Ford Taurus-type car. The victim was unable to provide a description of the people in the car.
I would love to see them caught because next time they may kill somebody, the bicyclists father-in-law said. If they get away with it once, theyll do it twice.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Prince George County Crime Solvers at 804-733-2777.
Always get the plate. Let others worry about the other stuff.
Don’t worry, tomorrow night Obama will hold a press conference about this.
Always carry a gun!
That’s not always possible. Not all activities lend themselves to carrying weaponry.
Being situationally aware counts for more, I think.
I thought the ‘knock-out game’ was a myth....
In most of these cases, people are caught by surprise. Someone just casually walking by them, smacks them on the head. You wouldn’t have time to shoot. You have to be constantly on the alert, which is difficult to do, but that is the sad state of affairs we find ourselves in now. Not PC to say, but watch out for blacks, because these attacks are almost always blacks attacking people who are of another race.
My Dobes see *everything*.
Great country we have these days....
Thanks for the link. Good read.
Now another un-PC voice....

That’s where learning how to prioritize becomes critical. Yes, you can’t prepare for getting hit on the head like that, but you can learn to glance at a licence plate, in the event it was a passing vehicle.
I don’t mean that the victim has to look at the plate, but those who witnessed the event should have glanced at the plate as best they can.

I just don’t go out much anymore. I’m perfectly happy staying inside and feathering my nest. And as I live in a safer conservative Chicago suburb, everything is nearby where I live food/store-wise, and I don’t have to go far and I can get back home fast. Have a lovely huge balcony to get my shot of sun and outdoors and a huge lovely park next door to where I live.
I’m older now and retired, and it’s dangerous out there these days. As long as I have my computers, people to talk to in a very friendly condo building, nearby docs/hospitals, grocery stores and a pretty view, I’m content. I sowed a bunch of wild oats when younger, and traveled plenty enough to satiate my see the world needs. Now the only way I’m leaving my habitat is if they take me out on a slab.
i was biking today and carrying,’with two’extra mags.
always around blacks. and to be’even more specific for the knockout-style’attack, a group’of blacks. if whitey fights back they want homies to help if they start getting their ass’kicked.
The answer to all these attacks is increased situational awareness and 9mm as a back up.
Hopewell MD and Hopewell VA are no where near PG county
this story completely misses the ‘where’
