You know its bad when the so-called leaders of a party harbor such pure contempt for their base that they are willing to drag the good name of their own party through the mud in an attempt to undermine that base.
From Politico:
A detailed report commissioned by two major Republican groups including one backed by Karl Rove paints a dismal picture for Republicans, concluding female voters view the party as intolerant, lacking in compassion and stuck in the past.
Women are barely receptive to Republicans policies, and the party does especially poorly with women in the Northeast and Midwest, according to an internal Crossroads GPS and American Action Network report obtained by POLITICO. It was presented to a small number of senior aides this month on Capitol Hill, according to multiple sources.
I couldnt find any detailed information about the pool of respondents beyond what Politico provided (eight focus groups across the country and a poll of 800 registered female voters this summer), but I have to wonder if they went to liberal enclaves to ask their questions or even made an effort to obtain an average cross-section of Americans. Of course, 800 registered female voters out of over 300 million Americans is a rather dubious basis upon which to establish any sort of conclusions.
Notice first that one of the groups behind this hit job on conservatives was RINO Karl Roves Crossroads GPS. The other was the American Action Network, a pro-amnesty RINO group.
Do you find it interesting that a group of Republicans would commission a survey ostensibly about how they can improve their public perception
then release its bad results to the mainstream media to trumpet even more about how the GOP has a bad public perception and is out of touch?

Hmm, must be something wrong with me. I’m female and intolerance, lack of compassion, and being stuck in the past are a breath of fresh air. Where do I sign?

Your comment on ATTITUDES got me to respond. The GOP has become extinct. I am a Conservative woman and belong to no party. The message of LIMITED GOVERNMENT must take precidence over social views!! Two messages have to change with the GOP.
1) Abortion
2)Homosexuality
I believe Abortion is disgusting. HOWEVER, you think people are going to overturn Roe Vs Rade with elections is nonsensical especially becuase no woman living today of child bearing age was around before it was illegal. I grew up Catholic, I remember vividly I was about 7 years old when Abortion was legalized. Our hearts were broken but again, focus has to be LIMITED GOVT. Not social issues....
Same with homosexuality. I dont care what people do in their bedrooms.
Other things we have all discussed here as in the Welfare State must be STOPPED. I think the country’s make up has to change mabye put all the working people together and let the non workers run out of their own money.
I would never vote for a pro-gay, pro-abortion party and many of us will not.
Your version of a conservative party will get you 20% of the vote.

Rove, We The People will once again have the last word at the ballot box.
Embrace us and win. Ignore us and lose. Your choice.
huh?
We have the internet, we don't need the media to communicate any more.
They do especially poorly in the NE because its the Democratic Socialist republic up there. That’s why the states are marked blue on the map.
Yep. We need better candidates and systemic way to groom these people. Conservatives need to get organized. Now it is just a bunch of cats out there hollering and whining.
There are ways to deal with all issues that are better than others. The ways to present issues should be a focus of those who claim to be political pundits. The "whipped cur" avoidance of issues serves absolutely no useful purpose, but to turn off people of principle of every stripe.
Nor do I. But do you care what they do in schoolrooms?
The last great president we should have cloned him.
Yes good point! However MSM and educational system propaganda is more strident than 80s and the level of indoctrination is greater. MSM is on the Internet. People are still getting brainwashed by the CNN, Fox, ABC etc. Conservatives have almost no voice anywhere except blogs where people whine and complain.
Thus conservatives are still being defined by the MSM and perceptions are being formed by the MSM.
What you say is 100% true as well. With the internet there is this potential to go around all this. I am just saying thus far it hasn’t been that effective particularly among those in middle. These people are still getting their perceptions of conservatives shaped by these powerful forces. Thus there is a missed opportunity to go around all this.
It starts with better candidates that have strong personalities and can reach people.
I think Ted Cruz is one of those
Exactly. If we had a herd of Cruz’s we would be fine
Karl Rove is a bigger problem than even Obama. Unlike Obama who is a declared opponent, this guy is sabotaging the party. He is anfreaking mole, I’m telling you!!
He stands for what his latest focus group tells him he should stand for. He has come to epitomize foolishness on a grand scale. I mean, the man gets the candidates he wants, has them run on the strategy he proposes (that is to say, whatever the focus group tells him) and then blames someone else (conservatives) when they lose. To add insult to injury, he appears on Fox News with that “cat ate the mouse” smile armed with a whiteboard (an effing WHITEBOARD!!!) to cite some obscure fact in an effort to convince us that 1+1=3 and that his strategy really did work. Ignore the results, pay attention to my whiteboard.
Is there way we could still get Fitz to indict this guy?
