This is exactly how this will play out:
The shutdown WILL occur on Oct 1. No noticeable effects for a while.
On or about October 15, Obama will pull the plug on the EBT cards and blame Republicans.
From October 15 - November 1st, increasing levels of riots will occur in major cities. The entire time, Obama and the Propaganda Corps (ABC NBC CBS CNN NYT) will blame it on the shutdown and on Republicans.
November 1st through 7th, Obama will demand Democrats get to the polls to restore government services.
Democrats will turn out in numbers never seen before on an off year.
Republicans will not take the Senate and will lose the House. Obama will keep importing Latinos at a breakneck speed from then on. There will be no threat of impeachment or limitation any more.
The coup will be complete.
Some people remark that the States administer EBT. True, but in 2013, during the government shutdown, the Feds were about ready to pull the plug on the states. Please note this letter:

I’ve been around a very long time. America has radically changed. Numerically, we are outnumbered and it’s getting worse every day. Demographics are wildly against us. We are “lead” by one of the most hapless Political Parties in memory which is ACTUALLY trying to kill us off. (the GOPe). America’s lurch Left is titanic and only going to be worse. The ONLY reason we are still in the game is that Dims just don’t vote and, this Nov, we are looking at a VERY favorable Senate map and we still are about 50/50 at taking back the Senate only 100% to lose it again in 2016. The WH won’t be ours again in our lifetimes.
Does this mean we won’t fight? Of course not. But only a very small number of Americans want a Civil War. I have long maintained the we are two Nations masquerading as one. However, I am always amused (and not in a good or funny way) that people think that all these guns we have will actually stop anything the gov’y want’s to do. It won’t. Not only can the gov’t take us down without any direct assaults, if it were direct assaults all the assault rifles in the world are popguns against trained military with drones and tanks. They won’t even need to leave the military bases to take us out.
So. No. There will be no civil war. Want a civil war? Then let’s take out the GOPe and run the damn thing.

We have tangled before. I have long suspected you of being a leftist plant. I have backed off that suspicion, but still view you very much as a RINO.
But that is not the topic of this post to you. Having said what I said, I still agree with your quoted text.
Let us assume we can do little or nothing as to changing the ethnicity or national heritage of those who are born or migrate here. Those are very 'fixed' and unwavering.
What we CAN change, is their politics. For example, I have viewed Latinos as a very ripe group for conversion to Conservative. They are family-oriented, hard working, sacrificing and Christian people. Very doable, to get those sort of people to see things our way.
It would require a major effort, and lots of instruction about what this country is and how we got rich. We would need a lot of spanish-speaking freepers to step up.

At some point “X will come” must change to “X is happening / did happen”.
We’re at a point where it’s all gotta start happening, if anyone has a vested interest in making it happen. We’re at 2 years left in the Obama’s term; considering the realities of making X happen, following through, and cementing/normalizing it to survive past the 2016 election & 2017 coronation, anything anyone wants to do leveraging current conditions must happen soon, and if it hinges-on/manipulates the 2014 election then actions must start now and culminate about mid-October.
The Left is facing loss of the Senate if no serious/dramatic actions are taken to affect the next election. Methinks his initial and repeated election involved clever data-mining, determining the minimum jurisdictions needed to push him over the edge (by whatever means), and could be done with finesse. This time, the statistics are simply not viable, so he crosses from clever & subtle to coarse & overt; opening the gates and declaring amnesty may be sufficient but is not assured, he needs to re-invigorate the disillusioned base with an outrage blamed on his opposition ... and he needs it _soon_ so outrage peaks at the election.
If revolt is coming, those who benefit from it need to initiate it soon - before someone else sparks it first and in their favor, or it happens spontaneously and everything comes crashing down.
And all this leaves us going “yup, gonna happen soon - and there’s not a d@mn thing we can do about it without going where angels fear to tread”.
They may not have thought this through. This isn't an easy or obvious path to predict. Furthermore, Normalcy Bias may prevent them from believing it.

History is full of kings who cared not for the job, just enjoyed the perks & powers. Their subjects did not fare well, especially when attempting to do something about it ... until they were willing to escalate accordingly, which is often hard for good people.

You’ve seen pictures of Neuschwanstein Castle (arguably the most picturesque of all); that was the _fourth_ castle he had built at great expense, and the throne room featured an elaborate mural which, among other gratuities, depicted his planned _fifth_. What will really happen is that there will be a “build-up” of pressure the next few years, from this year through at least through 2017 before anything really happens. What it will depend on BIG is this year’s midterms. That will be the turning point.
