The ranking, determined by Fraser Nelson, an editor of The Spectator magazine, was made by dividing the gross domestic product of each state by its population, and it took into account purchasing power parity for cost of living. Several other European countries were also included in the ranking.

Contrary to widespread belief, the effect of immigration to the UK on the welfare bill is only marginal. The biggest drain on welfare, and the reason why it's so difficult to reduce, is caused by the ageing of the population. A large proportion of all welfare spending is on state pensions and other benefits for the elderly.

If they have a legal firearm, which most don’t, they use that. Most Brits use a weapon (baseball bat, knife, sword) and their fists. As well as calling the police of course.
I was burgled in 2008. I have a shotgun and rifle, but didn’t have time to get to them, I had to use my fists initially then grabbed a commando knife. Which I didn’t use as my fists were enough.

You have no idea how depressing that sounds to an American.
Our great fascists/liberal leaders think western Europe is
the model for a great society. So here’s Britain, “second-poorest,
behind Alabama and before Mississippi” virtually
unarmed and at the mercy of fascists, liberals and socialists.
When it all comes down to it, we are heading for the same thing.
The only difference is we still have the means to do something
about it. I hope that when the time comes and the people of
Britain and the rest of Europe decide to throw off the
shackles of tyranny, we will be in a position to help.
I also hope that when your eighty, your fists will be as good as
they are now.
The British, even when everything was legal, have just never been a big gunowning public. The peak I believe was 2.6m guns in 1996. We just have a different culture historically re guns, we weren’t built on them like you.
Its not depressing, just different.
