The day after Mitt Romney opened the door to another possible presidential run, a new poll shows he has a huge lead among likely 2016 Iowa Republican caucus voters.

According to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll released Wednesday, 35 percent of likely GOP caucus voters would vote for the 2012 GOP nominee in 2016. When Romney’s name was added to the pool, no other candidate received double-digit votes.

Romney's shaping up to be the one. WE Freepers might as well face up to that fact.

Can it at least be Ann Romney this time rather than Willard? Ann is the one who wears the pants in that family.

Ted Cruz - 2016!

Do they have to be quite so transparent about it?

I hope that was really thick sarcasm because I can guarantee you that Romney is not going to win.

Mitt was cheated. I bet he will turn out to be another Reagan and lead us back.

What a complete load of horse puckey. How dare you compare that despicable liberal, Mitt Romney, to the great Ronald Reagan?

Your name wouldn't happen to be Reince, would it?

I think you've been here long enough to remember when a post like yours would have earned you the zot. And deservedly so. Mitt Romney's record as Governor of Massachusetts was so far left, it would make any liberal Democrat blush.

The one and ONLY reason this community got behind Mitt Romney in 2012, was out of sheer desperation, to stave off another four years of the Marxist in Chief.

Rick is not a RINO.

No, he's a stealth RINO. Even worse than the big, dirty, smelly kind.

That certainly quotes him out of context. When Bill Buckley convened a war council at NR in 1971 including publisher Bill Rusher and most of the editors in frustration with Thoroughly Modern Milhous who was up for re-coronation despite instituting such stellar conservative programs as the bootlicking China trip fawning over Chairman Mao and Chou En Lai and domestic wage and price controls and (IIRC) abrogating the Bretton Woods Agreement to facilitate mega spending increases, among other things.

I had the NR and Buckley inspired opportunity to work New Hampshire for Ohio Congressman John Ashbrook's challenge to Milhous. We did not expect Ashbrook to pull off the upset of the millenium. We did expect to embarrass and harass Milhous and we did. We did not make establishmentarian hackerama excuses like backing the most conservative (actually the smidgeon less social revolutionary and slightly less Marxist candidate masquerading as a "Republican") electable candidate. There is no conservative choice to be made between Robespierre and Danton and Madame LaFarge, even if one is a smidgeon more conservative than the others and is "electable." The conservative answer is that of Saint Dominic and the 101st Airborne: "Kill them all. Let God sort 'em out! (or God will know His own.)"

My wife worked more regularly for Bill Buckley and the man we knew would not have urged voting for trash like Romney. He would have encouraged us to take out the trash.

I take it that your four yeses are meant to cover all nine examples I gave you. In the event that that is your intent, then you think, for example, that the Arkansas Medusa would be 1000 times better than Obozo. That's a remarkable imagination you have there.

Either you don't know much about Her Thighness and her background (granting fully the impressive evil of Obozo's) or you aren't a very good oddsmaker or both. In a universe of finite dimensions, it would be exceedingly hard for any of the nine to be 1000 times better than Obozo. I did not even offer you the Massachusetts Mittwit and his background as an alternative. His mommy was no good. His daddy was no good. He is no good and enthusiastically so.

It's all well and good to shoot the messenger and I understand the vitriol but fact remains that there is at this time no conservative in the wings who can seize the GOP nomination. We have no Ronald Reagan waiting in the wings. We are all tapped out.

We had some rising stars like Sarah Palin, Herman Cain and Ted Cruz but we sat around and allowed the media to destroy them. Hell, many of us even assisted in the process.

So I will await the quadrennial circular firing squad to destroy all our good candidates while the bulletproof RINO emerges from the smoke to take the nomination.

No, I left a few of them out.

And Hilary would only be 400 times better than the foreign dog-eating packer.

Myth has a track record of going-along to get along, and not implementing a marxist agenda on his own. So his behavior would be dependent on the makeup of Congress.

His past performance also showed him to be hands on, as opposed than a do-nothing golfer, relishing in our demise.

I doubt that it could be said that he ever acted against the will of “the people” it’s just that the Massholes are mostly whacked out moonbats.

Is he anything more than a flaming political opportunist?

Hell No!

***he certainly has experienced hands on deck who will promote him from here to kingdom come when the right time arrives***

...AND he has enemies who will immediately defame him as a child molester, wife beater, fascist, corrupt politician... not to mention he is a BUSH! AND, he is for amnesty - he has an Hispanic wife.

Of course, the same is true of Ben Carson: he will be portrayed as a greedy physician who killed babies and mentally ill folk for profit, who abused his children by forcing them to play school sports, who is a big reader of Mein Kampf, etc., etc., etc.

Our enemies will do anything to win while our side harrumpfs and guffaws and trusts to the general status of the welkin.

What’s wrong with the Iowa Republican voter?

Iowa is East Chicago and has been for years.
