Two observations:
1. A camera on the cop car helps all parties involved.
2. When you obey the cops, and TRULY put your hands up, you won't get shot.

More observations.
Beige is nowhere near burgundy.
Men and women are not the same and especially with young children. A trained LEO should be able to tell the difference.
An apology should be given...immediately.

2. When you obey the cops, and TRULY put your hands up, you won't get shot. Exactly right. If owners didn't stop at Sit Stay and Shake, and covered Paws-UP!, the lives of many a dog would be saved.

A third observation: To be a cop in Texas you must be illiterate and color blind to confuse a beige Toyota with a burgundy Nissan.

How about this ... a front and rear dash cam in personel cars help protect you from out of control cops.
These cops got the color of the car wrong and mistake 6 year olds for “men”.
I think they need to go back for some more training in observation.

3. If your local cops can't tell the difference between a beige or tan-coloured Toyota and a burgundy Nissan Maxima, you have too many stupid cops, and they need to be fired and the entire department budget reduced.

Panicky, overzealous, color-blind... ...AND they know nothing about cars.
Just what I want in the police who patrol my neighborhood.

Some more observations:
1. Much of the action takes place out of view of the camera. There should be full coverage of any interaction with the suspect.
2. The taxpayers will probably be paying a settlement for therapy for the kids for years to come.
3. This is another incident that will be used to inflame blacks because the white cops can’t do a proper vehicle ID.

I heard the policeman on tape apologize more than once. They will probably not get an official apology
To: SoFloFreeper
he just wanted to feel up the lady and didn't see the kids. If you show a photo I'm thinking that he just wanted to get his kicks from either scaring the crap out of or molesting the lady and then it all went sideways when the little kids started pouring out of the car.
put a camera on cops would help all of this bullsh#t from happening and make the COPS civilly liable for criminal and certain civil offenses. Hit them in the donut fund.

........well, thankfully the woman did what the cops told her to do resulting in neither her or her kids getting hurt. If Michael Brown had done the same thing he would be alive today to go hold up another convenience store!
As for the cops, I think they were probably pushing the envelope on this one. But, that’s the nature of their job. If they don’t they could end up dead as one does every 60 hours. Perhaps they over-reacted some but I think they genuinely thought the car could have bad guys in it. So, Based on what we know now, I support the cops on this one.

They may have gotten the car color and make all wrong but at least they
did get the driver's skin color right! "Four black men with a gun" = "one black woman with children"?

There is a video from the police car. It shows that these officers can’t tell a beige Toyota from a burgundy Nissan and four Black men from a woman with four kids in the car. They should all be fired instead of being put on administrative leave because they are too stupid to do the job.
To: SoFloFreeper
Police in Texas have admitted they were wrong to draw their guns on a mother of four when they pulled over the family car early this month, but they won't apologize. Four kids who will hate cops for life. Nice job there, Quickdraw.
