In Midterm Elections, a Miss for Obama Could Be a Hit for Clinton
New York Times ^ | August 20, 2014 | By JOHN HARWOOD

President Obama’s international woes give his former secretary of state good reason to seek political distance. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s recent foreign policy criticisms made that clear.

Domestically, their interests diverge in a different way. A Republican takeover of the Senate this fall would hurt Mr. Obama for the final two years of his presidency, but it might help Mrs. Clinton if she runs to succeed him.

Republican control of both the House and Senate would provide Mrs. Clinton a clearer target to run against in courting voters fatigued by Washington dysfunction. The longer an unpopular president and his more-unpopular partisan adversaries battle to a standstill, the easier to offer herself as a fresh start.

“It would be bad for the country,” said Stanley B. Greenberg, President Bill Clinton’s former pollster, but “total gridlock would allow Hillary to be the change.”

They will need one not being held together with chewing gum and duct tape. The Hillary road looks like a hundred and fifty miles of mudslides and earthquakes.

Her use by date has long passed.

I’ll second that, but unless a more viable (electable) candidate shows up, they’ll do it anyway. It wouldn’t be the first time. They’ll just have selective amnesia, as they always do when pushing one of their criminals for office.

Her use by date has long passed.

That doesn't matter to about 47% of the people. They'll vote for her, no matter what, just as long as her opponent has an R next to his/her name.

All her propaganda team needs to do is convice about 4% more to support Hillary!. We have a lot of mindless fools in this country who vote, so it can be done.

This is the very scenario and rationale I suggested on a thread yesterday. Why Clinton is not going out of her way to campaign for democrats this year. Harwood must have read my comment!

Wishful thinking by the slimes. I seriously doubt she will even be the rat nominee.

Agree. She’s only being pushed to run by hard-core liberals in politics and the media. I think she’s in bad health, too old, has no accomplishments on her resume’ and is a lush.

Hillary, Bill and Chelsea are doing speaking events for high fees to build up their bankroll, while some people still want to listen to their crap.

Many of the left are pushing Fauxahontas Warren, so that’s someone to be wary of in 2016.
