James Foley Went Looking to Support Terrorists in Syria, Instead They Cut Off His Head
FrontPage Mag ^ | 08/20/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

Posted on 08/20/2014 7:27:58 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

James Foley was one of a new breed of activists calling themselves journalists. He didn’t travel to report on a story, but to promote an agenda. And the agenda was obvious from his Twitter feed.

Any human life lost is tragic, but a moral individual would have much more empathy for the Syrian Christians who suffered at the hands of Foley’s favorite Jihadists than one of their pet propagandists.

Foley came to Syria to support the Sunni Islamist rebels against the Syrian government.

He cheered on the Sunni Muslim terrorists fighting to ethnically cleanse the Christians of Aleppo. In the conflict between Israel and Hamas, his tweets and retweets were chock full of pro-terrorist propaganda.

But Foley ran afoul of at least some of the Sunni Jihadists in Syria. His twitter feed was filled with references to the FSA. And the FSA was going to be eclipsed by the Al Qaeda affiliates. And that was where he ended up.

When Austin Tice, an actual freelance journalist was kidnapped by Jihadists, Foley ridiculed the idea that Jihadists had kidnapped him. Surely Syrian Jihadists wouldn’t do that sort of thing.

Except they did.

When Newsweek’s Muslim Rage cover story came out, Foley mocked it too. Raging Muslims. How silly and Islamophobic.

Foley was fanatically anti-Israel and was even willing to echo Iranian propaganda.

If you can’t trust terrorists, who can you trust?

This is a lesson that is completely lost on the anti-American Left. They won’t believe their eyes because their deep-seated faith in their inhuman ideology trumps all.

Perhaps Mr. Foley’s death will help to bring ‘journalism’ back to reality.

No, seriously...

Every young person at age 18 should go live overseas in a very poor country/area for 1 year. No frills. Live among the people.

That would cure a lot of the whining and complaining people do about how bad it is in our own country.

Our government could learn a lot from him then.

Unfortunately he didn’t get the chance realize the error of his ways until it was too late.

Where did my sympathy go? Good riddance.

This reminds me of what Yuri Besmenov said in 1984 about Communist sympathizers like Jane Fonda in the West. That once Communists actually took over in the U.S, people like her would be the first to be killed.
When Hanoi Jane eventually takes her well deserved dirt nap, I recommend that the marker for her grave be an unplumbed urinal.

I'd even pay for the purchase and installation if I'd get to be the first one to christen it.

Liberals continue to fool themselves, thinking that the bearded savages are really just poor, downtrodden, oppressed dark-skinned innocent people.
They refuse to face the reality that the bearded savages are deliberately violent because they hate.

That moron took his girlfriend with him and didn’t even have a way to protect either of them. Only a fool marches off into the wilderness with no protection and even an animal will protect itself. He died screaming while a bear ate his guts. A fitting end for a fool who watched too much Disney. It is important to remember that nature often doesn’t kill you because it cant. It wants to and it will if given the chance. I try and remember that while I slaughter insects in my garden. They would not hesitate to devour me alive and aren’t burdened by morals or regret.

No schadenfreude from me, but I sincerely wonder if this man ever had a eureka moment, where he suddenly realized how evil Islam can be. Or if he rationalized it in his mind that his captors were merely a minor sect of ‘radicalized’ Islamists.

I’ll be waiting to hear all the ‘moderate’ muslims condemn the beheading....but they won’t.

For those who don’t know, according to the Washington Post,

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/08/20/how-journalists-like-james-foley-fall-victim-to-worlds-most-dangerous-conflict-to-report/

Foley was a seasoned video journalist who reported primarily for GlobalPost, a Boston-based news outlet.

I read some background about his abduction when this story broke yesterday afternoon.

According to the story linked below, Foley was kidnapped at gunpoint in Damascus in November 2012. GlobalPost then hired an “international security firm” based in DC to locate him. According to the story, reliable sources maintained that Foley was being held by the Syrian Air force Intelligence Service in a facility near Damascus.

So, how does he end up with ISIS? Well, one of two things happened: either that initial report was badly wrong, or Syrian intelligence had a little swap with ISIS - some of their guys for the American. If so, just when did that little swap take place? We'll see just how interested our pressitutes are in this story beyond hand-wringing and crying in their third martini before dinner.
