A South Florida mother who knows the pain of losing a son firsthand has written an open letter in support of the family of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old killed by a police officer in Ferguson, MO earlier this month....

“They both were unarmed. They were both teenagers. They both were African Americans and the both were shot and killed by a non-African American,” Fulton said.

And I rather doubt that non-African American person in either case just got up that morning and thought to themselves, "Gee, I think I'll shoot an unarmed African-American teenager today."

Trayvon's mother handed him off at the 50 yard line to his grandmother to raise when he was a baby. She washed her hands of any parental responsibility. I don't know who raised little Mikey, but it's just come out that he had some sealed juvie offenses for assault. So she didn't raise any angel herself.

So is anyone--except these self-deluding women hot for their 15 minutes of fame and maybe some $$$--surprised at these unfortunate outcomes?
