Fox News poll: Slim (?!) majority (52% to 41%) continues to oppose ObamaCare

the latest Fox News national poll finds voters oppose the law by a 52-41 percent margin.

As in the past, the new poll shows that most Democrats favor Obamacare (74 percent), while most Republicans (84 percent) and independents (61 percent) are against it.

Voters in every age group are more likely to oppose the law than favor it, with one exception: those ages 65 and over. And that group only favors it by two percentage points.

President Obama receives higher job approval ratings on health care than on almost any other issue: 42 percent of voters approve, while 53 percent disapprove.

“Who are these people in the 41% any how?”

Many working people with good employer plans aren’t paying attention because Obama and Sebelius delayed full implementation of the employer mandate and other provisions affecting employer plans to 2015. They will wake up in September and October when they see huge premium and copay increases at the time employers have them sign up for or renew health insurance coverage in 2015. A significant percentage of employers have already signaled they are going to pass the full impact of the O’Care mandated cost increases to employees. If the increases are of the magnitude those of us with private plans received last year, the 41% number favoring O’Care might decline very quickly.

Remember many more people are covered by employer plans than individually purchased plans so the pocketbook pain has not yet been felt by the largest segment of the working population. This was intentional. Double digit premium increases, higher deductibles and doubling of copays might wake them up. Many 50 year old liberals might oppose free birth control and abortions, or maternity care for illegals, when they begin paying some of the bills in the form of higher premiums.

So Obama won a slim majority of the popular vote. I don’t recall seeing many of those headlines. ;-)

Insurance premiums are set to increase significantly in the months leading up to the elections.

I suspect the Obamacare support will tank, AGAIN, as they did in the fall last year. If they don't, someone is cooking the poll numbers.
