At about 1 a.m., a St. Louis County Police officer shot and critically wounded a man who police said pointed a handgun at the officer near the intersection of West Florissant and Chambers Road.
The shooting happened near Chambers and Sheffingdell Court close to the site of protests against police for the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.
Police said they received a call about four to five men in the area armed with shotguns and wearing ski masks and they got reports of shots fired in the area. Police officers arrived and saw "multiple subjects running," said police spokesman Officer Brian Schellman.
An officer approached one of the men and he pulled a handgun on the officer who then fired, Schellman said.
Police said they recovered the handgun at the scene. The man was taken to a hospital.

Seems to me the relevant details of the shooting of the subject who apparently attempted to assault a police officer and steal his gun HAVE been released.

not assuming anything but saying if a guy aimed a gun at a cop then he deserves to be shot just like if a guy aimed a gun at you..
If you read other threads from last night there were reports of armed thugs with faces covered with guns walking about and heading towards the cops.

please tell me you are kidding. I think the police are acting like oppressive overlords. I am completely disgusted. They should have identified the officer who shot Michael Brown immediately, They should not have brought out the riot gear, tear gas and dogs. They should deescalate, not escalate. Very disappointed in their conduct.

I'm just saying that I would not be surprised if they had shot an unarmed person, then lied about it.

If the details have been released please point us all to them. Some trial story was released, however there was not one iota of evidence corroborating the “fight in the car”
