It's astonishing that an ideology which such an unbroken track record of failure has adherents who are so incredibly pleased with themselves. It's like a soda pop executive whose proudest achievement was thinking up New Coke.
For the liberals who aren’t liberal solely because someone is handing them checks for plopping onto the couch all day instead of working, liberalism has become less an ideology than an attitude. It’s an attitude of serene superiority over everyone else based upon absolutely nothing more than liberals’ utter certainty of the rightness of their collectivist cause. That history shows that collectivism always leads to tyranny never seems to put a damper on their confidence.
My new book, Conservative Insurgency, a speculative future history of the struggle to restore our culture to greatness, predicts that one of the reasons America will turn away from liberalism is the utter insufferability of liberals. Hearing them lecturing us on how things should be is like hearing Hillary Clinton lecture us on how to keep our marriages together. In fact, we can probably expect to hear Hillary Clinton lecture us on how to keep our marriages together. After all, she’s the smartest woman in the world with a stellar track record of raising awareness of stuff.
Oh, and just try to press a liberal for an actual, tangible achievement on Hillary’s resume besides enabling her priapic hubby’s tawdry antics. If you do, you’re sexist, cisgender and probably racist.
It’s baffling that they hold themselves in such high regard. Take President Obama, an academic socialist who's never competently performed an executive function in his life, including during the last five years. Yet he somehow still believes himself to be himself to be God’s gift to humanity. Literally. Except, instead of turning water into wine, he was going to make the oceans recede and cool the earth. We do need to give him credit, I guess. While the oceans haven’t receded, the Earth isn’t getting any warmer, which naturally doesn’t stop the slack-jawed global warming sucker caucus from insisting that the planet will turn into Hades if everyone besides them doesn’t ditch their SUV.
I guess it's easy to be moral when morality is defined as whatever you need at that moment. Still, it’s annoying to listen to people with such a weird, unearned sense of their own moral superiority. In truth, they are utterly morally illiterate. These are folks who draw parallels between Hamas and Israel when the only parallel between the Israelis and the jihadist degenerates is that they share the habit of breathing oxygen.
You’d be better off discussing ethics with your terrier. At least your dog isn’t going to come up with excuses for Ted Kennedy.
They're delusional in that they really believe they're somehow better than people who actually contribute to society. This reinforces the fact that liberalism has become a mere affectation, an act, a pose. It’s like a hipster’s trendy pork pie hat, except it’s an attitude – by having it you send some sort of message about your own awesomeness. Advocating liberalism is the “I only listen to music on vinyl” of American political thinking.
Interestingly, when you look at liberals, many live their lives in a conservative manner. This is because they understand that being liberal in your personal life is a one-way ticket on the high-speed rail line to Failureville.
Do you think Barack Obama would let his two delightful kids fritter their lives away in a miasma of drugs, promiscuity and general sloth? Of course not; those kids are going to work hard and be expected to achieve. But Obama would never expect that of the millions of welfare-sucking losers his party depends on at election time.
No, he needs those Democrat serfs to stay right where they are: poor, trapped and readily exploitable. After all, if they were to live like he does and support themselves, they wouldn't need him. And the priority for any liberal (after being seen as enlightened) is forcing someone else to need him.
Liberals like to look down upon conservatives as backwoods banjo-strumming freaks just waiting to ambush your canoe trip. Let’s put aside the academic studies that show conservatives are generally better educated than liberals and look at history. Liberalism and its collectivist brethren have never, ever succeeded anywhere they been tried. The results are always more poverty, more misery and less freedom. Always.
Detroit is the poster child of liberalism, but smug liberals conveniently ignore that blasted wasteland, arguing that the next time they're trusted, well, then they'll actually pull it off. Liberalism is the triumph of hopelessness over inexperience.
And then there are the noxious personal affectations of liberalism. Liberals seem to thrive by flaunting their self-designated signifiers of moral standing, whether it’s by shopping at Whole Foods instead of Safeway or by driving a Volvo instead of a Ford. God forbid you should take your kids to McDonald's – if you do, the local liberal moms will wag their bony fingers at you and tell you how their young Teagan has been fed only a diet of hand-selected, free-trade Nepalese lima beans and that his salads are made with dolphin-safe kale.
The only people more unhappy than their puny children, who yearn for the delicious, nutritious meat that all human beings need, are the husbands of these harridans. These sad pseudo-men endure without the pleasures of manhood we conservative males take for granted, like being masculine, subsisting only on the thin gruel of their own liberal smugness. Luckily their emasculating wives refuse to allow them to bear firearms like real Americans; if they did, they’d probably eat a bullet.
Oh, you smug liberals, nothing could be more boring than you and your attitude. I think I'm going to have a Big Mac for dinner, just for you.

"The Democracy Alliance" does not itself raise and spend a great deal of money. Rather, being a partner in the Alliance requires one to contribute large amounts to other left-wing groups. The Alliance evaluates left-wing organizations on various criteria, and makes recommendations to its members as to where they should put their money. Currently, the Alliance lists 21 groups in its “Aligned Network”:

The most interesting of the D/A documents that have come to light is the one that contains D/A’s “investment recommendations” for 2014. Not only does it list the recommended organizations, but it rates each organization in several categories, sets out the group’s budget for 2014, and shows how much of that budget should be contributed by the 100 members of the "Democracy Alliance." One category in which DA rates the organizations is “Collaboration,” as DA believes that all left-wing groups should coordinate their activities for maximum political impact.
Opportunistic pols like Harry Reid have denounced Charles and David Koch, and others, who contribute to conservative causes as “shadowy,” “secretive” people who dare infest politics with “dark money.”
In that context, it is worth noting that most of the groups to which the Alliance and its elite liberal members contribute are 501(c)(4)s that do not disclose their donors.

Philip Gara LaMarche is a secretive political operative who funnels billions of dollars from undisclosed donors to nonprofits and astroturf groups. But you won't hear unhinged Harry Reid railing Queegishly about him on the Senate floor. Why?
Here's why: LaMarche is a militant leftist philanthropist. He's a protected elite -- Columbia University grad, former ACLU leader and Human Rights Watch official -- with ready access to the White House. He and the left's other dark money managers preach transparency and openness, while plotting behind closed doors to secure power at every level of government.
LaMarche currently heads the shadowy Democracy Alliance (DA). In internal documents obtained and published this month by John Hinderaker of the Power Line blog, the group currently describes itself as the "center of gravity" for the progressive funding world.
DA enrolls wealthy liberal "members" who coordinate and finance a web of at least 132 left-wing groups. Though some of their members' and partners' identities have been exposed, DA takes great care to promise a cloak of donor secrecy "to provide a comfortable environment for our partners to collectively make a real impact."
While they bash Wall Street publicly, DA leaders have quietly recruited venture capitalists, bankers and hedge fund moguls -- along with union bosses and red-diaper trust fund babies -- to fund their takeover goals. Public school educators who belong to the American Federation of Teachers, headed by $500,000-plus yearly salaried President Randi Weingarten, should know that $230,000 of their hard-earned union dues go to DA, as Lachlan Markay of the Washington Free Beacon has reported.
While they bemoan "income inequality," DA brass have wined, dined and wooed 1-percenter plutocrats with swanky get- togethers featuring New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Kentucky Secretary of State and Democratic Senate candidate Alison Grimes, and popular "comediennes" Stephanie Miller and Lizz Winstead.
"Over the past nine years," the organization brags to potential contributors, DA has "aligned leaders in the progressive movement and political infrastructure" to "achieve victories at the ballot box and in policy fights." Their agenda spans "social justice," "climate change," "voting rights," gun control, illegal alien amnesty, campaign finance and sustained "strategic investment" to turn red states blue.
That's exactly what DA members Jared Polis and Tim Gill succeeded in doing in once-GOP-dominated Colorado in 2008.
LaMarche previously served as president and CEO of The Atlantic Philanthropies. As I first reported five years ago, that entity was offshore----a Bermuda-based political front stocked with acolytes of progressive billionaire George Soros. The "charity" run by LaMarche dumped some $40 million to help fund the astroturf Health Care for America Now group. As the tax disclaimer for HCAN discloses, "HCAN is related to Health Care for America Education Fund, a project of The Tides Center, a section 501(c)(3) public charity."
The Tides Center and its parent organization, the Tides Foundation, in turn have seeded some of the country's most radical activist groups of the left, including the communist-friendly United for Peace and Justice, the jihadist-friendly National Lawyers Guild and the grievance-mongering Council on American-Islamic Relations.
The faux populist HCAN, coordinated from 1825 K Street, provided invaluable ground and air support to reinforce Democratic messaging on Obamacare. LaMarche met with Valerie Jarrett for hours-long meetings on at least two disclosed occasions before the health care juggernaut's passage. By November 2009, he had visited the White House nine times.
I checked the most updated White House visitor logs (as incomplete and shoddy as they are). LaMarche has tripled his visits over the past five years. He is listed 23 times (21 under "Philip G. LaMarche" or "Philip LaMarche" and twice under "Gara LaMarche"). LaMarche also donated $18 million through The Atlantic Philanthropies to a Chicago charity headed by Valerie Jarrett.
Friend of Barack and Val. Bagman for Soros. Community organizer for progressive billionaires. Chances are, LaMarche and his operators have affected you, your statehouses, your businesses and your freedom, no matter where you live. Know your enemies.####
Great article but I do take issue with this statement. B. Hussein Obama is a hard core leftie with a chip on his shoulder. By his actions, it is obvious that he fancies himself an avenging angel. "Spite" is his nickname. If you want to call that a gift to humanity go right ahead. The only saving grace about the big O is that he is incompetent.

I wouldn’t say 99% if you are talking about IQ. Many liberals are well into the triple digits in IQ but are what some call “IQ idiots”, able to do complicated math and understand quantum physics and all that but totally unable to take a realistic approach to human nature. The ones who actually ARE in the two digit IQ range are more realistic, they are the ones who like the promise of having the government rob others to pay for their support and they merely rationalize to justify their position. On the other hand those who have the intellectual ability to do well but still propound political theories that make absolutely no sense are simply living in a state of cognitive dissonance. A prime example is someone who campaigns against hunting animals for meat but likes a good t-bone steak, as if killing and eating an animal raised for the purpose is alright but doing the same to a wild animal is somehow depraved.
My own favorite example of total boneheadedness is the liberal who claims that it is “inconsistent” of conservatives to be AGAINST abortion but IN FAVOR OF the death penalty yet imagine themselves to be totally consistent by taking the exact opposite view. Anyone capable of logic would realise that if one position is inconsistent then the MIRROR IMAGE of that position must of necessity also be inconsistent. In reality both positions are CONSISTENT, the conservative position is consistent in protecting the innocent and punishing the guilty. The liberal position is consistent in protecting the guilty and punishing the innocent.

That is what America is about I said, first country in history that gave the "common" people ownership in their society, their own property and the means to eke out their own living, its not that bad of a system. He really couldn't argue that.
