Obama: Pulling All U.S. Troops Out of Iraq Was Not ‘My Decision' (it was Iraq's decision)

(CNSNews.com) - When he was running for re-election in 2012, President Barack Obama repeatedly took credit for ending the war in Iraq and bringing all U.S. troops home from that country. Today, at the White House, however, when talking about his decision to use military force against the al-Qaida-related ISIS terrorist group in Iraq, Obama said that removing all U.S. troops from Iraq was not “my decision.”

“Under the previous administration, we had turned over the country to a sovereign, democratically elected Iraqi government,” Obama said. “In order for us to maintain troops in Iraq, we needed the invitation of the Iraqi government and we needed assurances that our personnel would be immune from prosecution if, for example, they were protecting themselves and ended up getting in a firefight with Iraqis, that they wouldn’t be hauled before an Iraqi judicial system.

“And the Iraqi government, based on its political considerations, in part because Iraqis were tired of a U.S. occupation, declined to provide us those assurances,” Obama said. “And on that basis, we left.

He did it because his base voters wanted the troops out. Anything else you hear is BS

Blame...Bush......blame racism.....blame Fox news....blame guns.....did I say blame Bush?
I'm getting more and more pissed that president Bush is letting this little gangster get away with incessant lies such as this. This being a gentleman only goes so far, Mr Bush, why are you allowing this presidential imposter shit all over you and your reputation-I know you're not waiting for the media to correct the record since most of them probably sleep with his photo under their pillows-even some of the females?

He ran on the issue of getting out of Iraq. Then he bragged that he’d fulfilled a promise. Now he says “That wasn’t me.”

Reminds me of a competitor in the contracting sales business years ago. I was always kicking his ass and one of the reasons was whenever something didn’t ship he’d tell his customers “You’re not going to hold that against me, are you?”

So now Iraq determines our strategy and defense budget. What a pack of lies and irresponsibility.

Where is the F22 and the mothballed B1B etc...

This just proves that he can say or do anything and NOBODY even questions/challenges him on it. I am sure that he does this intentionally, so he can test the envelop of what he can get away with - and he has been doing it since childhood.

I wonder if obama has a single member of the military in his security meetings, let alone the JCS. Other than the Marine he uses to hold his umbrella.

I think the Bush family has more to do with his silence than G.W. himself. I think it is a calculated decision to prepare for Jeb.

Speechless as well, but lying and double talk is par for the course.

obama was not a Clusterfuck candidate. I was frighten of him the moment I heard him speak. However, I think he was one of the best campaigners that the U.S.A. every saw, at least in 2008. In 2012 the prestige was gone, so he just stole the election.

The media won’t call him out on his lie and they won’t push back when his liars spew forth their talking points over the next week or so.

Is there anyone who cannot see that there is something mentally wrong with Obama? Who can lie so poorly on such a scale without one sign of a smidgeon of conscience?

Thank you Democrat Party and Obama suck ups.

October 21, 2011

“I announced a new strategy that would end our combat mission in Iraq and remove all of our troops by the end of 2011. As Commander-in-Chief, ensuring the success of this strategy has been one of my highest national security priorities. Last year, I announced the end to our combat mission in Iraq. And to date, we’ve removed more than 100,000 troops. Iraqis have taken full responsibility for their country’s security.

A few hours ago I spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki. I reaffirmed that the United States keeps its commitments. He spoke of the determination of the Iraqi people to forge their own future. We are in full agreement about how to move forward.

So today, I can report that, as promised, the rest of our troops in Iraq will come home by the end of the year. After nearly nine years, America’s war in Iraq will be over. “
