And it's people like her who want to be paid $15 per hour.
Maybe if the job paid $15 an hour, better quality workers would be serving you.
Not necessarily. They could be paid more, but still be incompetent slackers.
The real point of this $15 per hour movement is to unionize jobs like these. Unions don’t mean better employees. They just mean an employer can’t fire the incompetent, but rather, must pay the incompetent better and provide them with outlandish benefits.
I don’t get that either.
mickey D’s is crappola.
Growing up working at McDonald’s and Jack-in-the-Box many moons ago, and a chain restaurant too, I realize there are inherent problems when serving the public. Humans make mistakes. The staff screws up. That’s life. The public can also be extremely problematic to deal with, even when no mistakes are made.
I’ve eaten my share of fast food over the years. Yes I’ve had things left out of my order. Sometimes I was charged, and sometimes I wasn’t, they just missed the request. Either way it’s aggravating to get home and find that your order isn’t right. It’s equally aggravating to recall how you ordered, and that you mislead the order taker too by not being specific. It happens. I’ve done it myself.
.
Is the food overpriced? Perhaps it is. The restaurant isn’t there to give you a meal at the best price you can hope for. It’s there to make a profit. If you don’t like the price, stay away. Dumping on the company for gauging what their price should be and then charging it is about as anti-Capitalist as it gets.
.
Businesses have to weight what prices they will charge. They can charge so little they sell many items and make very little profit. They can also price themselves out of the market. What they hope to do is charge a fair price the public will agree to pay, without driving off business.
.
I’ve eaten at tens of McDonald’s, a lot of different Burger Kings, Carl’s jrs., Jack-in-the-Boxes, and other chain retailers too. I have had mostly great experiences. The staffs are generally decent, with some exceptions.
.
If I chose not to frequent a chain, I don’t go out and trash them on internet forums. I recognize that some businesses aren’t providing the service they should, but that doesn’t mean the whole chain is worthless. I’m not a vindictive guy.
.
McDonald’s is not gouging the public. Changing attitudes in the population base doesn’t have to be geared around terrible service, terrible food, or prices that are too high. The fact is, a larger segment of the population is eating less beef these days. That doesn’t mean that McDonald’s has done anything wrong. It’s simply indicative of changes of public perception and choices.
.
Seriously, you folks have gotten service so rotten that you feel compelled to trash a fast food chain on internet forums? I find that hard to believe, because I’ve been eating fast food for 50 years now. I’m not getting the service you folks are. Why is that?
Thanks Beandog. This was my response to another poster.
