COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus Public Health confirms a person is undergoing testing and has been quarantined for the deadly Ebola virus. A spokesperson says theyre working with the CDC to learn the preliminary results of those tests.
CPH says the person recently traveled to West Africa, where an outbreak has left nearly 900 people dead.
The virus can be transmitted through close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals.
According to the CDC, symptoms include sudden onset of fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat. This is followed by vomiting, diarrhea, rash, impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding.
No licensed vaccine for Ebola is available. Several vaccines are being tested, but none are available for clinical use.

LOL, nuclear bombs.
Way to go, naturally the doctor came home to be treated here.
Prevent panic?
If that is true, they’d better isolate ARAMCO personnel if that is not already too late.
Stream sterilization or incineration. There are many companies in America that do both.
Steam, not stream.
False-Negative Results of Plasma of Patients with Severe Viral Hemorrhagic Fever (Ebola)

Viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHF) are acute infections with high case fatality rates, associated with the risk of nosocomial transmission (3). A rapid confirmation of the clinical diagnosis is therefore required by methods such as antigen capture enzyme immunoassay and serologic detection of immunoglobulin M. With the development of PCR technology, it has become possible to rapidly test for viruses that cause VHF (4, 5, 10). We have recently confirmed a case of acute yellow fever with fulminating hepatic failure by reverse transcription-PCR (RT-PCR) (2). In spite of the very high viral RNA concentration in the plasma sample, it initially tested...

The crisis that justifies martial law and postponing elections?
Have you also considered antibiotic resistant germs? Even if this ebola crisis doesn’t expand too much more. That’s still a serious concern.
Why be scared when they cab just keep printing money, or making up imaginary money.
It would take a full blown epidemic in the USA to do that. Let’s pray that does not occur.....ever.
You know, all the “experts” are claiming that there is “little chance” of ebola occurring here, and yet there are quite a few tests happening already in the US. Hmmmm....maybe the doctors in these hospitals know a bit more than these “experts”.
Yes, it would take a lawless tyrant in a position of power to bring that about intentionally and clandestinely in the USA.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Those too. Americans are the targets of the Mahdi’s biological war. After all, he’s an Islamocommunist who utterly, bitterly hates America, Americans, and, most of all, the Constitution.
You’ve just described the Mahdi.
A constitutional requirement (preventing panic), right?
Don't you see? You have the right (and some say theduty) to know.

Gamma or x-ray irradiation is much less damaging to many things that you may want to use again.
50,000 to 100,000 RADs ought to do the trick
No one wearing a space suit has ever gotten Ebola, with the exception of one Russian scientist who accidentally stuck a contaminated needle into herself and contracted the disease that way.
The doctors and nurses who became ill had failures of PPE (personal protective equipment)--lab coats, gloves, boots, hoods, masks, and goggles. This equipment is not like the space suit, and is being used under extreme conditions (they are wearing it for many hours in hot humid environments).
Knowing how many people were tested for it is rather useless. I wish the media would hold off unless there is an actual positive test.
