Figures lie,
Liars figure.

Polls, even statistically valid ones will never be accepted for election results.

You can’t win an election by polls. They need actual vote counts not projections based on polls.

Could be a better strategy, and could set McDaniel up to be the favorite in a couple of years — when Roger Wicker is up for re-election. Maybe Mitch Tyner is taking McDaniel for a ride and simply milking the process for maximum legal fees?

It’s hard for them to prove it with votes because the courts won’t let them see the books.

You can only disallow votes that are illegal. Apparently, crossovers in Mississippi are legal.

If Cochran is the candidate, vote for the Democrat!

I’m wondering what the legal angle is here?

More people swearing they voted for him than the number of votes he got in the official election numbers?

No, it's people swearing that they voted in the Republican primary but will never support a Republican candidate in the general election. By Mississippi law a voter can vote in the primary of one party only, and must intend to support the party nominations if they vote in the primary election. It looks like McDaniel is trying to get those votes thrown out.

*********

snip

Mississippi voters don’t register by party, but state law makes so-called crossover
voting — casting a ballot in one party’s primary and another party’s runoff in
the same cycle — a misdemeanor. Tyner said the campaign had found 3,500 instances of
crossover votes, along with the 9,500 “irregular votes” and 2,275 “improperly cast”
absentee ballots. It was not immediately clear what made the votes irregular, or
how the absentee ballots may have been improperly cast.

The news media calls elections all the time based on projected numbers. Projection data per se is not unreliable and could be used to sway the court/grand jury to issue a recount.

No. Write in or vote libertarian, perhaps. Or skip that office. But no votes for Dhims.

Absurd. Vote third party or skip it.

They will be allowed to see redacted books, in my understanding. The trouble with that is the amount of time and the fraudulent work possible around redacting.

I am just responding to the article. They are not asking for a recount. They are asking to be declared winner based on polls. Good luck with that.

Really? I must have misunderstood. I thought they couldn't see books period, only ballot boxes.
