An open letter to the political right

Dear “Conservatives” and “Establishment Republicans,”

I write today in the hope you all can get over whatever anger, distrust or bruised egos this primary season and political year has caused you. We on the right need to unite and send a message to progressives by unambiguously retaking the U.S. Senate in November.

We all have some problem with what’s happened so far. Someone we liked lost a primary. Someone we didn’t won. Some piece of legislation we hate passed; some other piece we liked did not. No one is completely happy, but we all know things can get much worse – and will if we don’t put aside what divides and do what we must for the cause of liberty.

The political right has a habit of letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. This is exemplified by libertarians, and it’s the fast track to political irrelevancy.

Libertarians will hate that I’ve placed them on the right of the political spectrum, and indeed many of today’s libertarians indeed have no political home and are all over the map. Today, the term covers everything from the great Reason Magazine to big-government, socialized medicine-loving Bill Maher. The present day “libertarian” label can mean anything, so it means nothing.

But I’m not talking about those libertarians. I’m talking about the Ron Paul libertarians who were quite comfortable in a Republican Party with which they agreed on a majority of issues.

Back then, libertarians put aside their differences with conservatives and Republicans to work for the defeat of liberals and progressives. All three groups thrived, as did the nation. But now too many focus on the disagreements, the differences, and the scars that come with fighting for what we believe, win or lose.

Both sides have scars, but too many of us...

I tried some of your links. I think we need a short summary of your message. Surviving when civilization collapses doesn’t seem like a viable strategy for defeating the GOPe.

And the last 40 years shows electing liberal Republicans isn’t the answer. Conservatives can’t change Rats, but they can change the Ratlite party one member at a time.

I’m sorry about the induced puking. But your post, like all of the others informing me that I’m selling out offers NO DETAILS of an alternative strategy.

Trust me, I’m easily as radically right as most anyone on this forum. I want to reverse the March to a Marxist America as much as anyone here. I dislike the GOPe. I want them out as bad as you do.

Tell me how to do it.

As a CONSERVATIVE, I'd personally like to tell the author to STFU and CRAM IT. Clearly sides with the Establishment Republians, and HELL NO will I blindly follow the Republican Party which IMO has worked against my interests just as much as the Democrats have.

So I propose this: YOU ESTABLISHMENT RINO'S SIT DOWN, STFU AND VOTE THE WAY *WE* TELL YOU FOR A CHANGE!

Without fiscal restraint (17 TRILLION (OR MUCH, MUCH MORE) ?? THAT SHOULD BUY A LOT OF LIBERTY!), without limited government (GOVERNMENT REALLY, REALLY TAKEN APART), not killing 53 million little babies (HOW COULD GOD *POSSIBLY* BLESS AMERICA?????), with the FedGov *SPYING* on every single American and storing the data like we were all criminals that they just hadn't gotten around to arresting yet, with the FedGov circumventing the Posse Comitatas law against using the military against Americans and hiring a private army of 170,000, FegGov employees all armed to the teeth with military weapons, TANKS(!) and gear (WHILE *DESPERATELY* TRYING TO DISARM THE CITIZENRY!!) the cause of liberty is like a rose in a desert. It may still be alive but the ONLY reason it hasn't died yet is that is that the citizenry is armed and would resist. A civilian agency ordering a billion rounds (some for AR-15-weapons that they're desperately trying to take from citizens, and would but for that pesky old piece of paper (it's outdated ya know) the United States Constitution (YAY YAY!)

lol. Sorry that's all one sentence folks but it all seemed to fit together.

Sorry Derek, I, as a conservative didn't leave the R party, it left me. You mention McCain and Romney. Apparently you don't watch the news ENOUGH! If you did, you'd notice how a few months before the election a WIDE variety of 'polls' come out purportedly saying that one candidate or the other is in the lead without any mention of any other candidates. They are trying to pick our candidates for us and with a wishy-washy leadership they usually succed. Polls from people like the Washington Post, and the NYT. When your enemy starts to be concerned about who is leading your side, you can be sure he's pointing the way to who he wants for a candidate.

You say that nobody agrees with candiates on specific issues so won't vote for them. I could buy that. Who agrees on EVERYTHING, EVERYTIME?? But the problem is that we know how every single vote is going to go and the 6 or 7 R's who will vote against our principals!. It's going to go with the base wanting things one way and the leadership wanting things THEIR way. And since it's a two party system, they get it because we got nowhere to go. But further thinking leads to the inescapable fact that we don't HAVE to vote. You people need to not only count who's for you and who's against you in your polling, you need to consider who's eligible but refuses to vote for evil any longer.

That's me. I'm learning to *LOATHE* the RP and the pussies they're putting into leadership positions of not only the House and Senate, but of the committee's as well.

I'm a 2 issue candidate. Sheesh, I just found myself typing immigration!! It's infectious. My problem is the ILLEGAL ALIENS in our midst that conservatives could have been fighting a delaying action on for all of these DECADES leading up to the present disaster. Don't say that they're doing the jobs that American's won't do ... There isn't any job that Americans won't do. If they can't find people to pick a tomato crop then the employers have to find a way to offer a better wage. WE'RE NOT SLAVES DAMN YOU ALL IN WASHINGTON!!

All of this might be coming to a head in the next year or so though. Businesses are getting wise to the fact that there's NO WAY that people should be given $15 to flip burgers. And business is taking action.

I saw a video with my own eyes (saved it to my disk even) of an inventor who made a machine that will make a pizza pie for a few bucks, that takes a few mins and that human hands never touch. We don't even get the pleasure of guessing whether the employee's spit (or worse) on it to record it for youtube. Takes all the raw flour, wanter, cooks the crust, dumps the 'mater sauce and some warm meat from a hopper onto it and puts it in a box for the customer. Customer happy as a lark. Owner happy as a lark. no OSHA. No payrolls. No abusing ADA. Just a man and his machine. Italy.

But the point is if they can do this for pizza, why not spaghetts, lasagnua, hell if it can make a pizza crust why can't it make a loaf of bread or biscuits????

A Jap company has invented a robot that can work in fields of strawberry. It can tell which are ripe just by looking at them and it's right every time.

Welcome to the world of $15/hr minimum wage.

LOL. My other hot button issue is the debt/deficit but I've ran on FAR longer than anyone wants me to.

God Love yas fellow freeps,

Dean

I think we need a short summary of your message.

The first that happens when a person reads the summary is that they ask where is the proof? Most don't even get that far, discounting the claims as exaggerated. The bottom line is that they don't want to do the work any more than you did.

You gave me the "put up or shut up" line with no idea with whom you were dealing. You need an education. It's all there. I suggest you read it. Try one, and I think you'll understand what I mean. Every one of those articles is worth your time.

Surviving when civilization collapses doesn’t seem like a viable strategy for defeating the GOPe.

It is once one understands the gravity of what has already been done. More importantly, preparation is like being armed or learning martial arts of self-defense. It means that certain risks are more tolerable. One is more quietly confident in dealing with conflict. We need that in dealing with the progressive left.

The problem is that the GOP still believes that there is a “middle”. That somehow, there is still an undecided voter somewhere in America. Thus they move away from their base in an attempt to gather one or two more voters.

The problem is, they end up pissing off the base. Ultimately they LOSE votes because their milquetoast candidates cant rally the conservatives. Run a candidate that appeals to the base and you will have far more donations, volunteers and ultimately, votes.

The answer is being given repeatedly to you but you refuse to acknowledge. Stop voting for lilly-livered sell-out Rinos. Rinos and Rats love socialism. Stop electing them.

Once and only when the Rinos are gone can Marxism/socialism be dealt with. Not until then.

(I agree that what the GOP-e did was despicable but I also know that to splinter our party is not only political suicide but is national suicide.)

I have news for you. The party is already irreparably splintered, and it was done by choice by the GOP-E. They purposefully caused Senate races to be lost to Democrats rather than allow a Tea Party primary winner to make it to the Senate. I remember then criticizing Sharron Angle after she won the primary and before the election vote. They also did nothing to help the primary winner of Virginia and he lost by very few votes. So the war has been declared on the Tea Party, so forgive us for waking up to the fact and deciding to fight back. The GOP-E has sewn such bitter seeds of distrust and disunity, that we in the tea party have to see actions from the GOP-E before letting bygones be bygones. And by actions, I mean shutting the heck up and holding their nose and supporting the tea party candidates when they win primaries, just like they expect us to do. And by actions, I don’t mean calling conservatives racists who want to take away the black vote like was done in Mississippi by the GOP-E. If you want to belly-ache about losing to Harry Reid, you and the author may want to start criticizing the GOP-E for a change, for being such short-sighted power-hungry prostitutes.

Place your trust in the God of Abraham and his son Jesus, the christ. Wake up every day and live your freedom. Vote for officers of your state who will represent constitutional law, and refuse to support anyone who believes that pandering to the left is a way forward.
I apologize for the vitriol in my previous posts.
Conservatives cannot win at this point without submitting to God's will and living by those principles. My final comment on this : Surrender by increments is still surrender.

Tell me how to do it.

It's simple. Quit giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Once you've figured out who the enemy is, of course.

Which you apparently have not.

But, as the comments thus far clearly show, people are really, really mad and they are not going to take anymore. Unfortunately, what they are going to do is to shoot themselves in the foot and help the Democrats even though that is the last thing they want to happen.

People are really, really made and they are unwilling to take the GOPe disdaining actual conservatism while trying to browbeat conservatives with "where else are you going to go?" Party unity - now the trumpet call of the GOPe - cannot be a one-way street any more, as the conservatives have recognized the pattern.

You know, like recognizing that Lucy will never allow Charlie Brown to actually kick the football.

Electing GOPe isn't much down the ladder from electing democrats. Conservatives want off the danged ladder altogether, but GOPe insists 2/3rds of the way to the top is just fine.

The GOPe argument is sophistry, and is blatantly dishonest.
