"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Brooks wants us all to do like him: Get fitted for the starched white jacket so we can serve martinis poolside to the Democrats.

Poor David Brooks....

He seems to think that the more laws the Congress passes, the “better” job it is doing.

But bless his ignorant little heart, anyway!

Who is going to stand up for Republican values, but I believe in governing?

Governing means saying no to an ever expanding Leviathan that needs to be systematically devolved back to the State and Local Level, but an "R" progressive like he is will never get it.

We should compromise with the other side.

And then:

which senator is going to stand up and be the anti-Cruz?

Not very bright, really, is he? He gives himself away in practically his next sentence.

They are only coining the word "Palin-ization" to counter the Stalinization of their own side: Anybody who doesn't toe the party line has to be demolished.

It's a turf war. And the ones with most incumbents are hanging on by their fingernails to their petty perks and power, using demonization and voter fraud and anything else they can think of. Otherwise they would be working together with the Tea Party to uphold the most basic American values.

So, which senator is going to stand up and be the anti-Cruz?

Brooks is too dumb to notice that Cruz is the anti-McCain.

Why is anyone still LISTENING/READING David Brooks anymore, much less quoting him.

He is so yesterday; so establishment; so not real; so utterly clueless, as are all the people who promoted Obama.

No, see, Dave, the whole point of compromise is that both you and the other guy give up part of what you want so you both get some of what you want. You can’t really compromise with somebody who says “Hey, stop hatin’, give me everything I want.” “And what do I get in return?” “Uh, you get the pleasure of making me happy. That’s something.”

If you’re still not clear, I’m sure Governor Palin can make a fairly impressive go at explaining to you using crayons.

There are no words to adequately express how profoundly stupid and pompous David Brooks is (not to mention a suck up too).

The Irony is Sarah Palin, did very little to get the reputation she has been given by the Obama Campaign(including the media who made themselves a part in 2008).

Most people today ridicule Sarah Palin for something Tina Fey did.

The most unfortunate and hypocritical part of it all was the empirical fact that Sarah Palin was indeed the most qualified and experienced person in the 2008 race, baring none.

Not even John McCain had the kind of real executive experience Sarah Palin had proven as Govern of Alaska.
