A Republican congressional candidate fled her interview with a major election-forecasting group after being asked why she believed global warming was a hoax and whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States, according to a new report in The Washington Post.
In the Post, David Wasserman, the House editor at the Cook Political Report, detailed his strange encounter with the "frightening" and "fact-averse" Louisiana State Rep. Lenar Whitney.

Probably not. But asking someone to explain themselves and to support statements they have made is hardly 'ambush journalism'. If she can't give her reasons for saying what she said then running for political office is probably not the best career choice for her.

The global warming question was a softball she should have smacked out of the city. The Obamunist question should have been met with, “At this point, what difference does it make? The damage has already been done. I can tell you this, my kid needed to provide more documentation to play little league than Obama needed to run for president. That was your job, and you guys haven’t done it. I could ask you the same question, what does the press think, and at this point, after two elections, its probably too late for you to have done your job, isn’t it?
He’s probably is a citizen, but the fact that you are still asking the question is a failure of the 4th estate. I can’t, and won’t, force a free press into meeting its responsibilities - this is the price you pay for free speech. When speech is free, you many times get what you pay for.”
Followed by questions of who is the President of Rangoon, blah, blah, blah. Stupid media.
I would just say that 0bama has stated he was born in two separate hospitals in Hawaii.
I'm sure she could “handle” the little leftist punk. But I like the way she shut him down and refused to participate in the ridiculous ambush interview.
Too many conservatives think they need to win over the hostile MSM. Liberals and leftists demand questions in advance and shut down interviews if reporters ask the wrong thing.
Of course he is going to run to the Washington Post and claim she ran away because she was “fact averse”. The MSM will always insult conservatives no matter what.

True. But if you’ve ever dealt with the MSM they often gang up on you. The best way is to take a quick breath, pause to clear your mind then speak what you do know. If you don’t know the answer say so but tell them you can look into it then get back to them.

The Cook Political Report isn’t the “MSM.” It is, however, paid attention to in the political world in which Ms. Whitney operates.
It may well be that the writer went into the interview with a bias, but if someone is running for office they have to anticipate and know how to respond to questions they don’t like. If only there were a video, either to exonerate her or to validate the writer’s interpretation of what happened. In the meanwhile, the guy with the “ink” wins.
They may not win over hostile media but I expect them to get in their face and dominate the media while educating the public. We need warriors not choir directors. So I am not big on walkouts.
And that is the ONLY correct answer. It's not up to us to speculate on where he was born, it's up to HIM to PROVE to US that he was born in Hawaii. So far he has failed to do so. If they say it has been proven, ask them how? By what? Specifically. Don't let them dance away or turn it around. It's on THEM, not US.
My question would be, why did she consent to the “interview” in the first place?

This was not a live, televised interview where someone can score points with a good answer. This was an ambush interview where the punk kept asking questions until he got an answer he could twist around to make her look bad.
I agree with you. Someone should not walk out on a live, televised interview. Get in their face and answer the question. This interview was just an attempt to make her look bad.

The left, including and especially the media, are not just people who disagree with you. They’re traitors who want you reeducated or worse. They’re working really hard to marginalize you in every way. I’ve thought for a long time we give them credibility when we go on their shows etc. It makes it look like the other side is interested in debate. No, they’re godless totalitarians. They’re evil.
I did not expect this from a well-respected group like Charlie Cook's Cook Political Report.
Shame on them. I expected better from them.
