U.S. civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson has called on Twitter to release its employee diversity information, which its Silicon Valley peers such as Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn and Facebook have already done.
The Rainbow Push Coalition, founded by Jackson, has also asked Twitter to signal its commitment to inclusion by hosting a public community forum to address the company’s plan to recruit and retain more black talent.

Maybe Jesse Jackson ought to demand that more home boys get trained for IT jobs instead.
I demand that Jesse Jackson release diversity data on the employees and contractors of the Rainbow Push coalition.
I demand to know, how many are black, how many are female, how many are homosexual, how many are black homosexuals, how many are female lesbian blacks, how many are “trans-whatever” white vs. “trans-whatever” of other races, etc. etc. etc.
That is his job. Extortion, that is.
Jesse, as an out-of-wedlock Baby Daddy, have you had any negative repercussions from the much younger Baby Mama you knocked up? Is she hounding you still for child support and other benefits? Does she demand that you fulfill your parenting obligations? Have you been asked to appear on the “Maury Povich Show” but have refused? Do you still catch crap from your wife about screwing a younger woman and fathering an illegitimate child?
Too bad Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Facebook didn't tell the Poverty pimp to go hit the road, but I guess those companies fly and salute the flag of PC, and are easily cowed by any grievance bearing minstrel. I hope better from San Fran based Twitter - but don't expect it.

How the heck can you get a good technical job, if you are doing God knows what in the streets??????
This discussion is missing in too many discussions about these issues. If certain people make the choice to go into the streets, join gangs, do God knows what instead of being productive members of society, then by definition, you are NOT going to have a productive good paying job with some tech company such as Twitter.

My guess it that the percentage of whites in his organization is on the low side and doesn’t exactly match the demographics of the population. And of course, it needs to be adjusted with the firing and hiring of various people and new mandatory hiring quotas for his organizations.
Yep, you hate to get personal, but Jesse Jackson got a girl pregnant. He himself is acting out some of the bad behavior which gets millions of his fellow blacks in trouble.

The rest of American business has to deal with this stuff all the time. I’m actually glad to see the liberal and hypocritical high-tech sector get a dose of its own medicine.
While they’re at it, the demographics at the venture capital firms that fund these companies are far more skewed and could use a good skewering.
(In contrast to the generally enlightened and fair hiring of the tech companies, VCs are outright sexist, if not racist, in their hiring.)
If I were the CEO of Twitter, I would invite him to fly out and visit me personally at my office to discuss his concerns.
Then I would keep him waiting for an a least an hour, and finally have my admin walk into the waiting room and convey my apologies that I had to cancel the meeting at the last minute due to a sudden bout of nausea arising out of my total disgust at his cheap effort to shake down my company.
Then I would have security escort him out.
I’d release their colleges, the sports teams they follow (or don’t follow), whether they prefer mayo or Miracle Whip, what kind of pizza they like, and whether they consider themselves a morning person or evening person.
Yet he stands there indignant and resolute that the moral sanctity of his convictions (flawed as they may be) are unassailable. Screw him.
