The airline that kept flying to Israel: Egypt's Air Sinai [Israel]

Egypt's Air Sinai has continued its scheduled flights to Israel, despite the cancellation of flights by numerous American and European airlines, according to Calcalist.

The Egyptian carrier runs four weekly flights to Ben-Gurion International Airport. The decision to continue flying to Israel must have been made at the highest echelons, and is meant to send a message to Hamas, which Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi regards with disdain, Calcalist reported.

The Egyptian decision has prompted harsh criticism by many Arab web users on social networks.

Which makes the comparison with the US reaction quite stark in its polar opposite.

Egypt continues flights; FAA (one of many political arms of the Ø regime) stops flights, only reinstated upon opposing pressure.

I think they are at many levels. I just don't understand why someone does not take out the Qatar port facilities. This could be done quickly and clandestinely and would send out a clear warning about the financing of the moslem brotherhood.

That would isolate both Turkey and Obama.

Egypt is suffering economically. They benefit from tourism and that came to a screeching halt during the ‘Arab Winter’ uprisings. It is in their best interest.

I am SO PROUD of Egypt for DUMPING the Brotherhood, and dumping the terrorists, and then doing the metal-detector once-over on Kerry. And, before that, by actually signing a peace treaty with Israel.

I think I’ll take my chances, security-wise, and visit that country when I make it to Israel. They are an AMAZING people.

Well, there is not only “history” here, but it’s this other stuff, like I posted on another thread ...

— — —

It kinda started with the Gulf War and the USA’s placement of troops and assets for the Middle East ... and then now it also comes from having the U.S. Combat Air Operations Center for the Middle East - for CENTCOM - moved from Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia to Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base south of Doha, the Qatari capital.

Plus it also involves the “Defense Cooperation Agreement” which has been expanded even more than when it was first agreed upon.

There’s a lot going on there for the USA that started several Presidents back.

— — —

SO ... how does one “take out a port” with a country that USA has a “Defense Cooperation Agreement” with? Isn’t that kind of odd that we have an agreement regarding your defense -and- we’re going to be the ones to bomb you! ... LOL ...

And then, I don’t think that’s going to work out very well for the U.S. Combat Air Operations Center for the Middle East - for CENTCOM, near Doha ... if you know what I mean.

I kind of think that both of those things would be like an albatross around the neck of the USA for any future bases anywhere in the world, and for any “Defense Agreements” in the world ... :-) ...

It would go like this ...

“Oh, so the USA would like to have a base here in our country and also offer us a Defense Agreement to protect us from any attacks from our enemies? Well ... we understand that you are the ones who attack the host countries where you have bases. And we understand that your Defense Agreement means that you will help with our defense with everyone else except yourselves!”

LOL ... I don’t know how good of a precedent that is ... :-) ...

NOW ... I’m not saying that this support for Hamas should continue ... not at all! But we’re going to have to do it in a way that protects our own interests there, and we do definitely have interests there.

I thought that was the end of Egypt, when the Muslim Brotherhood took over with President Morsi.

BUT ... I did notice that through all of it, the Egyptian Military was still there, quietly “behind the scenes”. I mean they STILL had their hands in things and yet they were “on the edges”.

So, I began to think that they were just waiting for an opportune time to act.

One more thing, too ... I was thinking that when it became legal for the Muslim Brotherhood to be politically active, that they also “exposed themselves” and the Egyptian Military was probably writing up a list of names for the future. When the military made their move, they arrested all the Muslim Brotherhood who had exposed themselves. That list of names made it real easy to pick them all up!

I’m glad they cleaned house.

I am not suggesting that the US do it, however gas facilities are very easy to destroy and are very hard to secure from determined special forces.

I’m not exactly sure how Qatar stands on that issue of Iran being a danger ... now — other than they both were and/or are supporters of Hamas.

Qatar has been funding most of the anti-fracing useful idiot groups in the US. This is with the blessing of our government (IRS). We should be at open war with them.

Sounds like they’re trying to play both ends against the middle. That’s a very dangerous game.

Even sweeter in that's where Obama made his Arab Spring speech from.

Hasn't Egypt historically been friendly with Israel. They have a common enemy, Palestinians.

Even lowly Egypt found a way to send a clear message to Hamas. And so did we didn’t we.

Does it ever suck to be a banana republic with a low life fifth world scum-bag as imposter in chief.

Very true...my thoughts were that the Brotherhood represented the masses there, and maybe the did (they won the election, after all). But now it’s clear that the masses didn’t understand the Brotherhood, but when they got to power - they not only exposed their people, they exposed what they stood for - and the Egyptians wanted NOTHING to do with that, so they were VERY HAPPY when the military put an end to it.

Of all the countries involved in this so-called Arab Spring - only Egypt is now the only one better off than at the start of this nightmare.

The US reaction was simply a dirty trick by the Obama Regime.

Egypt has done more to help Israel than the USA has done. That says a lot.

“Egypt has done more to help Israel than the USA has done. That says a lot.”

Believe it or not, Obama has done ok helping Israel too. As far as I know, we’ve continued to help them with all aspects of their missile defenses and continue to share intelligence, despite having the same “issues” as we always seem to have in blaming Israel for responding to being under attack.

It actually could be much worse for Israel.
