Following in the footsteps of the record-setting cool air mass in mid-July, a second blast of air with polar origins will invade the eastern U.S. to close July. Like the original, the sequel will be glorious.
This taste of September may not be quite as strong mid-Julys version, but should produce temperatures 10-20 degrees below normal across a large swath of the eastern U.S. by early Tuesday.

It’s been damned nice all last week and again most of this week after a misearable hot and humid day or two here in flyover country. Highs in the upper 70s, clear sunny and low humidity. Bling on the grobal walming!

Is he really wealthier than the Clintons?

Maybe next winter will be interesting, but winters between 3 and 9 years from now might be much more interesting.

You’re right. I’ve heard that we’re probably entering a mini ice age.

If you are genuinely worried for your tomatoes, a cold frame will help. Clear plastic over a wood framework placed over the plant will keep the heat in. I do this every fall.

It’s a possibility. Our European ancestors survived the greater extended minimum in early America, so we should be able to stand it.

I would gladly trade you some heat for your tomatoes for some of that cool air. The thermometer on my patio read 121 yesterday, and 118 today.
