Maybe next winter will be interesting, but winters between 3 and 9 years from now might be much more interesting. As in the old Chinese curse "may you live in interesting times".
Warmth is good. Warm oceans experience more evaporation, leading to more moisture in the air and more rainfall. Warmer weather mean that areas of Canada and Siberia become warm enough to grow crops in.
Colder weather means drought and famine, worldwide.
